After introducing 4 FINTA technicians from our community, we wanted to look ahead.

So we asked them one simple question: “What would you dream of in an ideal world as technicians?”

A way to imagine what could come next for Technicienne, for this community, and for the future we still hope to build together. 🍀💚

A few weeks ago, we were invited to take part in a talk on inclusivity in nightlife. 💥

The discussion highlighted concrete and inspiring initiatives from the field, as seen at AB, C12, Recyclart, Bodies in Space, as well as through Montage, Club Dérive and Bye Bye Binary.

Among the most striking examples were the ambition to achieve real gender parity, particularly in positions of responsibility and technical roles, the introduction of care teams to help ensure safer spaces, adapted infrastructure such as ramps, toilets and quiet spaces for neurodivergent people, solidarity-based pricing, and more.

All these approaches remind us that inclusivity is not limited to a charter. It is built at every stage: from programming to welcoming audiences, including the technical side of events.

En 2026, le B.A.O. et Technicienne joignent leurs forces ! 🗯️🔗

À partir d’avril, nous unissons nos voix à travers une série de publications qui abordent les réalités de nos communautés respectives : plasticien·nes et technicien·nes, même combat !

Informer, soutenir, créer du lien, … Autant d’initiatives que nous souhaitons mettre en place tout au long de cette collaboration afin de construire des ponts entre deux communautés qui ont plus en commun qu’on ne le pense.

Our Technicienne program is currently on pause, so we took the opportunity to go back to what matters most: the FINTA technicians who have been building and powering this community for the past 3 years.

We met with a few of them to understand what the program has really brought into their practice. And /spoiler for part 2/ we asked them one simple question: “What would our ideal future look like together?”

On 9 November 2024, we stepped into the impressive and discovered a buzzing ecosystem of peers, busy around huge pink and blue fabrics, balloons, glitter, protest signs and vegan pancakes. Our very first collaboration with ! Léa welcomes us with a big smile, arms full, and opens the door to the main hall, the beating heart of the festival.

There, in the dim light and an enchanting soundscape, we meet Liora and her mixing desk. Liora, who gives us a glimpse behind the scenes of the festival and of her profession, who inspires us and makes us dream. Liora who, despite the near absence of an audience for this activity (a single participant! wink wink ), didn’t falter and, still full of energy, delivered a passionate demonstration.

A meeting that sparked many more, throughout the Technicienne programme 💜

On 09.10.23, we stepped into the iconic WIELS and discovered a buzzing space full of curiosity and collaboration. Employers and FINTA technicians moved around, exchanging ideas, sharing stories, and exploring new ways to hire differently.

Our jobdays wasn’t just a meeting : it was a collective force. 💥 In a welcoming atmosphere, conversations sparked, opportunities opened, and inclusive hiring practices started to take shape right before our eyes.

Even as this initiative is now on pause, the energy from that day still resonates. The connections, the inspiration, and the hope for what comes next continue to guide us! 💜
