🌞The annual Summer Party of Buren Zonder Grenzen is taking place on Sunday 13 September!

During the Summer Party, we bring families, buddies and volunteers together. 🎉

💚📦We are looking for volunteers to set up the hall, serve the buffet and drinks, do the washing up and tidying up.

📖 Browse hundreds of books! Our next big Second Hand English Book Sale will take place in URSquare on Saturday, 12th of September, open to all :)

Sales are from 10:00 to 15:30, and book donations can be dropped off between 10:00 and 12:00 at Fritz Toussaintstraat 8, 1050 Elsene.

🫶 The suggested donation stays the same, 1 euro per centimetre!
All funds from the event will go directly to Serve the City to support ongoing volunteer projects across Belgium.
We look forward to seeing you on the book sale and thank you for supporting this initiative!

There is something powerful about food.

A meal does not ask where someone comes from. It does not ask about their paperwork or their immigration status. It does not require someone to explain their story before receiving it.

At the Humanitarian Hub in Brussels, food distribution is one part of a much bigger mission: offering unconditional welcome and essential support to people in situations of migration.

Since April, Serve the City volunteers have been helping keep the weekend lunch distributions going: preparing, serving, organising, and making sure that there is a warm meal for those who need it.

For someone facing an uncertain night, a hot lunch can mean more than food.

It can mean a moment of normality.

A moment of dignity.

A moment of being cared for.

This , we celebrate the volunteers who show up, roll up their sleeves, and turn solidarity into action -one meal at a time. ❤️

☀️ What a wonderful day for volunteering!

Yesterday, for International Youth Day, STC organised the first of many Youth Engagement Afternoons, through our new Youth Engagement Program (YEP)
Volunteers between the ages of 16 and 25 teamed up to help shape a garden, give out food and necessities on the streets, or even do some kitchen cleanup!

This first edition was a sunny success, and we look forward to our next one, make sure to follow us to stay tuned!
