💡 Will it influence the way Europe makes decisions today with tomorrow in mind? How can we move from a non-binding strategy to concrete implementation? And what role should young people, civil society and faith communities play in holding institutions accountable for future generations?

👥 On 𝟭𝟮 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀, we will bring these questions to a high-level panel including 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶, Head of Cabinet to European Commissioner Glenn Micallef, Krzysztof Balon, Vice-President of the EESC Civil Society Organisations’ Group and co-rapporteur on the Strategy; Kieryn Wurts from the Conference of European Churches CEC; and Filipe Martins SJ, Director of Jesuit European Social Centre (JESC) and co-leader of the Fit for Future Generations Initiative.

DBI, as member of the European Laudato Si' Alliance (ELSiA), together with faith-based partners across Europe, calls on EU leaders to bring renewed ambition to COP31 Türkiye, in Antalya.

We urge the European Union to:
💡 Accelerate the phase-out of fossil fuels and support renewable-based electrification
⚖️ Deliver a just transition that leaves no one behind
🎯 Increase climate finance for the countries and communities most impacted by the climate crisis
🌿 Champion agroecology and food sovereignty as essential solutions for a resilient future

As Pope Leo XIV reminds us, ignoring those most vulnerable to climate change is to deny our shared humanity. COP31 must be a moment for implementation, accountability and hope.

📱👩‍⚖️ Regulate tech, not kids.

We are proud to join 140+ organisations and experts in child rights, digital rights and mental health in a letter sent to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen ahead of her State of the Union address on 16 September.

A year ago, President von der Leyen committed to child safety online, launching an expert panel to advise the EU on next steps. Today, we are urging her to turn their recommendations into concrete action.

Recent developments make clear that what children need is protection that goes beyond restricting their access. Together, we are calling for a harmonised EU approach that makes safety a condition of providing digital services to children.

The responsibility of keeping children safe online should sit with the tech companies that are designing this space. Not with parents. Not with children.

🌿 As the Season of Creation 2026 gets underway, the Salesian Youth Ministry Sector has announced a special initiative: the “Breath of Life Campaign”, to be carried out during the final week of the , from 27 September to 4 October 2026.

The campaign is a tree-planting initiative promoted by the organisers of World Youth Day 2027.

Fr Rafael Bejarano, General Councillor for Youth Ministry and DBI President, invites all Salesian communities and institutions around the world, and especially members of the Salesian Youth Movement, to actively participate in the Breath of Life Campaign 🌳

The European Union is setting out the priorities for future youth policies beyond 2027. As Don Bosco International, we are actively participating in this process with the aim of bringing the voices and genuine needs of the younger generations to the attention of policy-makers in Brussels.

Through this short survey, we aim to gather the views of young people (aged 18–30) on key challenges such as:

💼 Employment, economic security and housing
🧠 Mental health and social wellbeing
🌱 Ecological and digital transition (including the impact of AI)
📝 The questionnaire takes about 5 minutes to complete and is available in several languages. The data collected will be essential for developing concrete policy recommendations.
