Born in Aotearoa, New Zealand, he trained in contemporary dance at the New Zealand School of Dance before completing his PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2023. Through the INTRACOMP project, Hamish examines how intercultural and transcultural competence are expressed and experienced through the arts, a perspective he now brings to our mentees.

We're delighted to have him on board for this journey. 💙

It really was a convergence of people, ideas, intentions, values.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make Culture Converge 2026 the blast that it was:

Our amazing hosts at Carpintarias de São Lázaro; Câmara Municipal de Lisboa; our brilliant speakers and moderators; the participants, who gathered from all corners of Europe and beyond; the caterers who nourished us; AtelierSer, who gave us the precious opportunity to take a little piece of this experience home with us.

This was day one, with the opening panel by Femke Snelting, Sara Barriga Brighenti, and Ivana Maraš, moderated by Connor Benedict, and the awards ceremony hosted by Théo Majcher. Congratulations to the three winning projects:
🌱 AI Rights Shield for Independent Artists and Cultural Scene (AIRS), by KreativaLab, Serbia
🌱 Talk the Walk, by Omnisfactum, Portugal
🌱 The Roots are Growing, by Asociația Nord, Romania
