Forró is a contact dance. 💃🕺

It's always worth remembering the importance of personal hygiene to create a pleasant experience for everyone on the dance floor.

Especially with summer approaching, a few simple habits can make a big difference:

✔️ Wear clean, comfortable clothes for dancing.
✔️ Bring an extra shirt to change into during the night.
✔️ Use deodorant.
✔️ Keep your breath fresh and maintain good oral hygiene.
✔️ Carry a small towel to dry off sweat.

Small habits show respect and consideration, making the dance experience much more enjoyable for everyone. ✨

🇧🇷MACULELÊ🇧🇷

Maculelê is a type of Brazilian folklore dance of Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous origin.

The practice involves:

🔸️Music and Percussion: The rhythm is driven by the atabaques (drums) and singing, which tell stories and evoke the ancestors.

🔸️Dance and Body Expression: The movements are vigorous and rhythmic, showcasing energy and vitality.

🔸️Sticks: Participants use wooden sticks to keep the rhythm and simulate strikes, representing the struggle of enslaved peoples.

At a higher level of difficulty and daring, the dance can be performed with machetes instead of sticks, creating a stunning visual effect from the sparks flying with every strike. This dance later merged with other Brazilian cultural expressions, such as capoeira and frevo.

The true origin of maculelê is unknown, and several legends exist about it. These legends naturally passed down through the oral traditions characteristic of Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous cultures during Colonial Brazil, and inevitably evolved over time.

And tomorrow, we will have a special experience with our dear
❤️Come learn more about the history and experience the dance yourself!
