Every WONCA conference is an opportunity to learn from colleagues facing different healthcare challenges, while discovering how much we have in common.

From 26 - 28 November, the WONCA EMR (East Mediterranean Region) Conference brings our community to Cairo for three days of scientific exchange, practical learning and new professional connections.

Whether your interests are chronic disease management, mental health, digital health, medical education or health policy, there will be opportunities to learn and contribute.

Hosted by Egyptian Family Medicine Association.

The University of Toronto's Department of Family and Community Medicine is inviting members of the WONCA community to take part in its annual leadership programme for women in family medicine, Advancing Women's Excellence in Family Medicine (AWE-FM).

Women increasingly make up the majority of the family medicine workforce worldwide, yet leadership development aimed specifically at junior women family physicians remains limited. AWE-FM is designed to help women emerging into leadership roles build the skills to advance the discipline, while working together on the challenges they share as emerging leaders.

The SPACE Project has published its State of the Art Report, a key milestone in the Erasmus+ Social Prescribing and Civic Engagement project.

The report brings together desk research, a scoping literature review, country reports, survey findings, focus groups and interviews. It includes responses from more than 500 health and social care practitioners, nine focus groups involving 88 participants, and surveys with 25 people across Malta, Greece, Ireland, Spain and the United Kingdom.

For family doctors, the report is especially relevant because social prescribing is closely linked to the wider determinants of health. It describes social prescribing as a way to refer people with social, emotional or practical needs to non-clinical support in the community, including exercise classes, arts and music activities, gardening, support groups and volunteering.
