De Associatie van interieurarchitecten neemt het op voor de interieurarchitect in België. Actief in Is aangesloten bij UNIZO en de Federatie Vrije Beroepen.

Het AiNB neemt het op voor de interieurarchitect en wil als organisatie een spreekbuis zijn van haar leden naar de media, consument en het grote publiek, professionals, de industrie en de overheid. Sinds 1952 is het AiNB de enige officieel erkende beroeps- en belangenorganisatie voor professioneel opgeleide en werkzame interieurarchitecten. Het AiNB onderhoudt nauwe contacten met de beroepspraktij

k, maar ook met het onderwijs en de industrie, zowel op nationaal als internationaal terrein. Dagelijks neemt AiNB het op voor zijn leden en tracht deze bij te staan in de uitoefening van het beroep. Belangenbehartiging, informatie, advies, bijscholing en administratieve hulp staan hierbij centraal.

After six years of leadership, Mauro is stepping down as president of AiNB. He has elevated the association with memorable events, increased visibility, and a strong vision that inspired the board. We thank him for his dedication, inspiring insights and impact.

We’re delighted to introduce Joke Holvoet and Steven Van Compernol as new co-chair presidents of AiNB.

Steven brings analytical and structural thinking and a rational approach, while Joke goes for a more intuitive vision, human connection, and an inclusive approach. Together, they make a complementary team that will continue to lift the profession, strengthen its visibility, and defend the value of our discipline while building community through training, events, and meaningful member engagement.

And as an extra strongpoint, Joke becomes the first woman president of AiNB, marking an important step for the association.

Invisidoor Arched, een onzichtbaar aluminium deurkader dat inspeelt op de terugkerende trend: rondbogen

Rondingen en boogvormen maken een duidelijke comeback dit jaar. ARLU nv speelt hierop in met zijn laatste innovatie: Invisidoor Arched. Dit betreft een onzichtbaar aluminium kader voor rondboogdeuren: strak, subtiel en volledig geïntegreerd.

Een verfijnde boog die opgaat in de wand

De strakke lijnen van Invisidoor sluiten naadloos aan bij moderne, minimalistische architectuur. De variant met rondboog voegt daar een extra creatieve laag aan toe. De zachte kromming introduceert een verfijnd, architecturaal accent dat een ruimte karakter geeft zonder visueel te domineren.

Net als bij de rechte uitvoering wordt het deurkader volledig geïntegreerd in de wand, waardoor ook de rondboogvariant subtiel opgaat in het interieur. Dankzij de primerlaag kan het kader in de gewenste kleur worden afgewerkt, zodat het naadloos aansluit bij elk interieurconcept.

Eenvoudig toe te passen in diverse projecten

Invisidoor Arched is vlot te integreren in verschillende bouwsituaties, aangezien het systeem geschikt is voor zowel nieuwbouw- als renovatieprojecten. Zo vormt het onzichtbaar aluminium kader voor rondboogdeuren een goede keuze voor architecturale projecten zoals woningen, kantoren, hotels en restaurants, die streven naar een rustig design.

Onzichtbare techniek voor een strak eindresultaat

De deur opent en sluit door middel van onzichtbare scharnieren, wat het minimalistische karakter een extra dimensie geeft. Kleinere variaties in houten boogdeuren worden subtiel opgevangen, zodat de deur steeds mooi in lijn ligt met de wand en de ronding visueel perfect tot zijn recht komt.

Invisidoor Arched maakt het voor architecten eenvoudiger dan ooit om de terugkerende rondboogtrend subtiel te integreren.

Akoestische uitdagingen in de utiliteitsbouw door Tom Segers

Rockfon en AiNB nodigen u op 16 oktober uit in de Rockfon showroom in Wijnegem voor een inspirerend event. Tijdens deze avond wordt u meegenomen in de akoestische uitdagingen van hedendaagse architectuur, met bijzondere aandacht voor spraakmakende interieurprojecten.

Gastspreker Tom Segers, Senior Ingenieur Geluid en Trillingen bij Bureau De Fonseca, deelt zijn inzichten en praktijkervaringen uit toonaangevende projecten. Op basis van gerealiseerde projecten wordt dieper ingegaan op de rol van akoestiek in architecturale totaalconcepten.

NOOK #2: STRUCTURAL INGENUITY: THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF INTERIORS

What do you do when a client insists on not having columns in the design, even though they are essential for the building's supporting structure? Architect Dirk Jan Postel faced a technical dilemma at Museum Voorlinden, but thanks to his interest in engineering, he found an ingenious solution that ultimately enriched the interior experience.

This edition focuses on interiors in which aesthetics and technology reinforce each other. Designs by interior architects who enjoy the challenge of using materials in unconventional ways and as efficiently as possible, defying gravity and creating a sense of lightness in their constructions.

This issue also highlights a high-profile construction in which inclusivity is central: the Serpentine Pavilion by Sumayya Vally. This pavilion is constructed from architectural fragments that originate in London's migrant communities, resulting in a sculptural structure in which diverse cultures come together in a powerful way.

𝗡𝗢𝗢𝗞 #𝟭: 𝗕𝗘𝗭𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚

De behoefte aan ruimtes die ons tot rust brengen en ons losmaken van de constante ruis van het dagelijks leven groeit gestaag.

In deze allereerste editie van NOOK in 2025 staan verstilde interieurs centraal – omgevingen die stilte, bezinning en vertraging mogelijk maken. In een wereld die steeds sneller lijkt te draaien, waarin de druk om voortdurend ‘aan’ te staan overal voelbaar is, verlangen we meer dan ooit naar plekken die ruimte geven aan rust en reflectie.

In onze Food for Thought-serie reflecteren twee denkers op dit thema. Omgevingspsycholoog Fiona de Vos legt uit hoe de fysieke omgeving ons gedrag en onze keuzes beïnvloedt – en hoe ruimtelijk ontwerp kan bijdragen aan ons mentaal en emotioneel welzijn. Ilya Kneppelhout van The Offline Club, vertelt over zijn snelgroeiende community die een offline leven promoot, met een hernieuwde focus op het menselijke.

Paul Linse leidde ons rond in zijn ingetogen ontwerp voor het Pillows Hotel, en Riekie Brokking van Doepel + Strijkers Architecten nam ons mee naar een sereen rouwcentrum dat door haar bureau werd ontworpen.

Daarnaast spraken we met diverse experts over hoe onzichtbare elementen – zoals akoestiek en geur – kunnen bijdragen aan het gevoel van comfort en rust in een ruimte.

Dit nummer laat zien hoe interieurarchitectuur een krachtig middel kan zijn om mensen tot rust te brengen, hen dichter bij zichzelf te brengen en betekenisvolle verbindingen met anderen te faciliteren.

Lecture number three of the Atlas Archive series speculates on "The City of Proximity" by Prof. Ezio Manzini. In conversation with Dr. Albert Fuster (Glasgow School of Art), this talk invites us to imagine the so-called 15-minutes city, where functional and relational proximities enable citizens to feel closeness with each other.

For over three decades Ezio Manzini (Politecnico di Milano) has been working in the field of design for sustainability, for which he has recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Interested in social innovation for sustainable changes, he started DESIS, an international network of schools of design for social innovation.
