About

The Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux is an independent, non-profit cultural organisation based in Brussels. It is an expert organisation providing information and building networks in a broad field of culture, offering artists and organisations opportunities to create discussion, new projects and new possibilities of collaboration. The operations aim at long-term, sustainable cooperation.

The Institute was founded in 1993 and its scope of operations covers Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. It is a part of the network of 17 Finnish cultural and academic institutes funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture as well as various public and private funds. The Institute cooperates closely with the Finnish Embassies in the Benelux countries, and is also a member of EUNIC Amsterdam and EUNIC Brussels. All the Institute's activities start from the grassroots level; it always works together with local partners.
