🌍 Today, August 19, is World Humanitarian Day.

A stark new UN report brings us face to face with a devastating reality: those who dedicate their lives to saving others are increasingly being targeted. Weaponized drones and ruthless conflicts are changing the face of warfare, striking those trying to bring hope to the darkest corners of the world, from Gaza to Sudan.

Last year alone, nearly 1,000 humanitarian workers were victims of violence, with 350 lives tragically lost.

The words of UN Secretary-General António Guterres resonate with more urgency today than ever: "Disinformation is eroding trust. Humanitarian funding is being cut. And humanitarian access is being restricted."�

After days of forced isolation due to the presence of Israeli settlers, UNICEF has reached the village of Qusra (West Bank), delivering water, food, medicines, and hygiene kits.

However, some Palestinian families still remain surrounded.

Today, 2.4 million girls are denied access to schools. But the emergency doesn't end there: the UN warns that NGOs on the ground, the only ones still trying to provide essential aid, are at risk of shutting down due to drastic cuts in international funding.
