The NGO Shipbreaking Platform is a coalition of environmental, human rights, and labour rights organisations working on the shipbreaking issue. This global platform includes NGOs based in the largest shipbreaking countries, India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. The Platform is now also recognised at the Basel Convention and the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) as the preeminent international NGO advocacy organisation on this critical subject.

📣 Our 2024 Shipbreaking Records are out—yet another shameful chapter in the history of . Last year, 409 ships were dismantled globally, with 255 ending up on beaches in South Asia. Due to unsafe working conditions, 9 workers lost their lives, and 45 others were injured.
