Last week, our Bulgarian partner BCause Foundation celebrated its 30th anniversary with an international conference under the theme “The Art of Sustaining Generosity”.

Giving Europe was represented by our Network Manager Anne-Laure Paquot, who took part in the panel discussion “Around the World: Generosity Travels Across Borders”, presenting opportunities for organisations to reach donors beyond national borders

Beyond the celebrations, one message stood out: people, shared journeys, and collective commitment will continue to be the driving force behind lasting impact.

With this final message, Philea Forum 2026 comes to an end.
It was a pleasure for Giving Europe to be part of these inspiring days in Copenhagen and exploring together how philanthropy can continue to evolve across borders.

Environmental challenges cross borders. Does funding do the same?

The latest edition of Environmental Funding by European Foundations – Volume 7 is now live, offering the most comprehensive picture to date of environmental philanthropy in Europe.

Drawing on 9,488 grants worth a combined €2.2 billion, the report shows how funding is geographically distributed across Europe and beyond.

Many environmental issues are international in nature and call for cross border collaboration. This is where cross border giving comes into play, helping to channel vital resources to countries where they are less readily available.
