Organised by Philea, EuroPhilantopics 2026 is coming to Brussels on 2 December under the theme “Philanthropy as a Partner for Protecting Climate and Civic Space”.

From protecting civic space to tackling climate challenges, many of the issues facing Europe today go beyond national borders. EuroPhilantopics 2026 will address the ways in which philanthropy can and must be a vital partner of European institutions in shaping a resilient and democratic future and will see Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Teresa Ribera open the plenary session.

What does the global charity landscape look like today?

Our UK partner Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has published the World Giving Report 2026: Charity Insights, exploring the challenges, priorities and resilience of social purpose organisations across 33 countries.

The findings reveal a sector that continues to demonstrate resilience and adaptability. While many organisations view the sector in their country positively, they are also responding to rising demand, growing financial pressures and an increasingly uncertain operating environment.

How can organisations unlock international fundraising opportunities?

A simpler way to give across borders: discover the Giving Europe online donation platform.

With just a few clicks, donors can support non‑profit organisations in different European countries and discover causes beyond their own borders.
Individual and corporate donors based in Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom can now donate online through the platform.

How can Europe make cross-border philanthropy easier?

In response to the European Commission's proposed 28th Regime, known as "EU Inc.", Philea calls for foundations and public-benefit organisations to be included in this new harmonised framework designed to facilitate cross-border operations across the EU.


As a network facilitating cross-border donations, Giving Europe believes that enabling philanthropy to operate more effectively across borders is key to a stronger and more connected European civil society.
