Yesterday, we hosted the first Digi4Live webinar “Connecting the Dots: Digital Concepts for European Livestock”. 🌟 Participants from across the livestock sector joined us to discuss future sustainability, data use, and digitalisation.

Dr Jarkko Niemi, Research Professor at the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) and Head Coordinator of the Digi4Live Project is the first webinar speaker we are introducing in our series of posts.

With a PhD in Agricultural Economics, Dr Niemi specialises in animal health, welfare, and disease economics, focusing on sustainable farming practices and digital innovation. During the Fish Breeders Round Table, organised by Nofima, EFFAB Director Ana Granados Chapatte provided an overview of the context, opportunities, and challenges within the and she emphasized the importance of promoting the value of balanced and for more sustainable .

Fish Breeders Round Table, is a three-day meeting for the global aquaculture breeding sector and research organisations to openly discuss challenges and opportunities for innovation and best practices in the genetics improvement of aquaculture species.

Exchanges and discussions about adaptation, robustness, disease resistance, the welfare of fish, and levers and barriers for integrating innovative tools such as digital solutions or gene editing to improve . EFFAB and FABRE TP members presented as well during these three days.
