๐ Ahead of World Environment Day, one question is becoming increasingly urgent: who really shapes climate adaptation decisions?
As climate impacts intensify across Africa, the issue is no longer just what policies are made, but who is included in making them.
Our new research, 'Democratic practices in climate change adaptation', explores this question through evidence from six African countries: Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and The Gambia.
It looks at how citizen inclusion, parliamentary engagement and democratic institutions can strengthen climate resilience, and where gaps still remain.
This work will be unpacked in our upcoming online launch webinar, which will bring together voices from climate policy, government and parliament, including Rachel Kyte (UK Special Representative for Climate), Anthony Nyong (African Development Bank), Julian Wright (Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office) and parliamentarians from Kenya, Uganda and Zambia.
