Evelyn Glennie is proof that music can be not only heard — but felt.
Having lost almost all her hearing in childhood, she didn’t give up on her dream — she redefined what it means to “listen.” Today, she is a world-renowned percussionist performing on the greatest stages across the globe.
Evelyn often performs barefoot to sense vibrations through her body. For her, sound is not just about the ears — it is movement, energy, and rhythm flowing through the entire body.
Her story is not about limitations. It is about new ways of perception. About refusing to accept boundaries where they don’t truly exist.

🌍 We believe: everyone has the right to be heard — no matter how they hear the world.

This weekend we were in Brussels for the .eu Conference and AGM, where Linnea (Vice President), Tania (Secretary), and Elen (Board Member) were present.

It was an inspiring few days filled with learning and exchange around accessibility, European disability policies, and the ongoing fight for a more inclusive society for hard of hearing people.

Tania also took part in the “Empowerment through Leadership” panel, sharing powerful insights on youth leadership, self-managed spaces, and IFHOHYP. It was amazing to see so much interest from other organisations wanting to connect and learn more about our work.

A big highlight from the AGM was the approval of two young HOH women, Paulina Lewandowska ( , Poland) and Ida Hansson ( , Sweden) to be part of the EFHOH Board! Congratulations to both on this well deserved achievement!❤️💪🏻

Feeling inspired and motivated for what’s ahead. See you next year in Stockholm! ✨

On February 21st, the IFHOHYP Board came together in Brussels for its first in-person meeting💪🏻

Throughout the day, we shared ideas, set priorities, and worked on shaping the future of IFHOHYP. We focused on developing new activities, strengthening collaborations, and improving the way we connect and communicate with our members.🚀

Beyond the agenda, it was a moment to build stronger bonds, exchange perspectives, and recharge our collective motivation. We move forward inspired and committed to creating a federation where every young hard of hearing feels included, empowered, and proud to be part of this community.

Thank you for your trust and support❤️ It truly drives us forward. Stay connected, there is much more to come!
