🌍 Strengthening European Citizenship Education in VET

We are pleased to share the successful implementation of a mobility organized by EVBB – European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training within the framework of the EUCLASS Alliance project.

EUCLASS Alliance is a European initiative that aims to strengthen European Citizenship Education in Vocational Education and Training (VET). The project addresses a key challenge: helping VET teachers integrate EU-related topics into their teaching and engaging vocational students with broader themes such as democracy, rights, and active participation in European society.

Through activities such as international mobilities, collaboration between institutions, and the development of innovative teaching resources, the project works to:

• enhance teachers’ skills
• increase students’ awareness of EU citizenship
• strengthen the EU dimension in VET programmes
• foster cooperation between vocational education institutions across Europe.

The mobility organized by EVBB provided an important opportunity for participants to exchange experiences, explore innovative educational practices, and reinforce European collaboration in vocational education.

🤝 A big thank you to all the partners involved in the EUCLASS Alliance project:

Great energy and strong collaboration at the VET4EU2 workshop in Brussels, hosted at EVBB!
Our Secretary-General Theodor Grassos kicked off the day by setting the scene and outlining the workshop objectives.

Cluster 1 – Learners, inclusion & lifelong pathways
Moderated by Giulia Meschino (European Vocational Training Association - EVTA), with inspiring contributions from Silvia Genero (ENAIP Veneto), Marco Muzzarelli (ENGIM ONG Foundation) and Kevin O’Shea (FET), bringing concrete examples from practice and policy.

Cluster 2 – Quality, innovation & skills relevance
Led by Scilla van Cuijlenborg & Adrijana Hodak (EUproVET), with strong inputs from Vasilis Siomadis (Small Enterprises' Institute of the Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen - IME GSEVEE) and Pieter Hoekstra (). Expert reflections from Tamar Atabarut (eucen) (curricula & skills) and Ali Rashid (Folkuniversitetet) (quality assurance) helped turn discussions into actionable takeaways.

Cluster 3 – Governance, funding, partnerships & internationalisation/mobility
Igor Hanc () opened Cluster 3 by presenting how higher vocational colleges are governed in Slovenia. Theodor Grassos also prompted a lively exchange by reflecting on the funding situation in VET, and by raising key problems and suggestions around internationalisation and mobilities that VET institutions and their members face.

We wrapped up by synthesising cross-cutting messages and prioritising recommendations to strengthen VET systems and partnerships moving forward.

As the DigiGreeNPost Final TPM in VET House, Brussels came to an end yesterday, partners focused on consolidating results, validating procedures, and setting the stage for the project’s final milestones. The discussions highlighted the consortium’s commitment to ensuring long-term impact and fostering European cooperation in the postal sector.

Key themes and activities included:
🔹 Defining certification standards, auditing processes, and inspection parameters to ensure consistency and transparency across countries
🔹 Preparing the implementation of cross-border certification with learners from all partner countries
🔹 Exchanging views on European sectoral cooperation and strengthening cross-border collaboration
🔹 Reflecting on how digitalisation and the green transition continue to shape the sector’s transformation
These discussions not only wrapped up two productive days of collaboration but also set the tone for what’s next; the project’s final conference, where partners will present results, and explore the path forward for a greener, more digital postal sector.
