ACE is a network of European national and regional film archives. Regional branch of FIAF.

The Association of European Cinematheques (French: Association des Cinémathèques Européennes – ACE) brings together 51 European national and regional film archives, dedicated to preserving and promoting both European and international film heritage. ACE members are non-profit institutions committed to the FIAF Code of Ethics.

💛 Special Screening of Woman with a Landscape by Ivica Matić!

🎥 The recipient of the 2025 Joint Restoration Grant Ivica Matić’s feature Woman with a Landscape and five of his experimental shorts will be screened at the Sarajevo Film Festival on 13 August.

🦭 Palo and Samo, two young Inuit hunters, are vying for the heart of the beautiful Navarana in the height of the Greenlandic summer.

🎞️ The Wedding of Palo, shot during Danish anthropologist Knud Rasmussen's 7th and last expedition to Greenland, finds a balance between fiction and ethnographic document, benefiting from the authenticity of the non-actors and magnificent imagery.

💥 SAVE THE DATE | No Time to Wait 2026 in Warszawie!

🎞️ One of the most important international events dedicated to digital archiving and open standards is returning this autumn. It is celebrating its tenth anniversary in Warsaw!

🗣️ Organised by the Filmoteka Narodowa – Instytut Audiowizualny (FINA) and MediaArea.net “No Time to Wait” is a three-day conference dedicated to exploring open media, open standards, and digital audiovisual preservation. The call for proposals is open.

🎬 Discover the vibrant and stunning beauty of early colour cinema with Fantastic Flowers, 15 extraordinary silent short films produced between 1906 and 1920.

🎞️ This films, restored through the Joint Restoration Grant of A Season of Classic Films in 2024, were accompanied by a newly recorded electronic score by Max Abysmal.

💡 Call for proposals! The Projectionists’ Workshops initiative is back!

📽️ Strengthening and promoting knowledge and practice in analogue film projection, based on the sharing of experiences. This is at the heart of the Projectionists’ Workshops programme, set up by ACE - Association des Cinémathèques Européennes and FIAF.

🎞️ Each selected workshop will receive joint funding totalling €2,000 from ACE and FIAF to support the organisation of a short workshop for projectionists.

📍 So far, nine workshops have been funded through this scheme in its first two years. ACE and FIAF have now decided to fund four more workshops over the coming year.
