Euro Coop is the European Community of Consumer Co-operatives. Our members are national organisations of consumer co-operatives in 19 countries.

Euro Coop is the European Community of Consumer Co-operatives, whose members are the national organisations of consumer co-operatives in 19 European countries and 1 non-European member. Created in 1957, Euro Coop today represents over 4,500 local and regional co-operatives, the members of which amount to more than 30 million consumers across Europe. Primarily active in food retail, consumer co-ope

ratives are enterprises owned by consumers. Their overall turnover amounts to more than € 74 billion, with 36,000 points of sale and 450,000 employees. Its secretariat is based in Brussels.

Today, we celebrate under the theme "Co-operatives for a Peaceful World".

Peace is built every day through inclusion, democratic participation and opportunities for everyone. Across Europe, consumer co-operatives put these principles into practice by strengthening communities, reducing inequalities and ensuring that economic activity serves people.

From supporting access to employment and fostering inclusive workplaces to advancing equal opportunities, consumer co-operatives demonstrate that businesses can be a force for social cohesion and resilience.

📢 A new chapter begins for Euro Coop!

Euro Coop's General Assembly elected the organisation's Board for the 2026–2030 mandate and appointed Debbie Robinson, CEO of OurCoop UK, as the new President of Euro Coop.

In her address to members, Debbie Robinson presented her vision for the next four years, highlighting the importance of strengthening cooperation with the wider international co-operative movement and working together to amplify the voice and impact of co-operatives across Europe and beyond.

Today, we celebrate our 27 million consumer-members who not only shop but also actively shape their co-operatives. In consumer co-operatives, being a consumer-member means having a voice in decisions and ensuring that every product reflects shared values.

This year’s theme, "𝘚𝘢𝘧𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘴, 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘴", reminds us that trust and safety are at the heart of responsible consumption. Our co-operative model shows that quality, transparency, and sustainability go hand in hand 🤝

🌱💡🤝 EU consumer co-operatives at work!

During the Euro Coop Board Meeting in , we held a special meeting at the European Parliament, hosted by MEP Camilla Laureti, and had the chance to meet several MEPs.

We are proud of the insightful exchanges that highlighted the importance of consumer co-operatives in driving sustainability, innovation, and ethical supply chains.

We also presented case studies from Coop Sweden, Skupina COOP, and Coop Italy, showing how co-operative initiatives translate into concrete impact across Europe 💪
