African Caribbean Pacific Young Professionals Network (ACPYPN) brings together young professionals and diaspora from Africa, Caribbean and Pacific fostering exchange and dialogue for positive international relations. ACPYPN has a number of activities:

• Fortnightly socials in Brussels: members meet regularly at informal social meet-ups, with high-level guests, including directors of international

organisations, ambassadors, trade negotiators, diplomats and MPs/MEPs.

• Ambassador series: ACP YPN meet ACP Ambassadors for an intimate round table on key issues impact ACP-EU and international relations

• Digital entrepreneurship: new! In 2016, we shall start a series of digital entrepreneurship meet-up. Already in 2015, we have influenced EU legislation on the topic to ensure digital policy remains inclusive irrespective of race, ethnicity, economic status and more. ACP YPN’s mission is to impact EU and international policy in order to make it more inclusive. One way we are doing this is by taking the first ever delegation of ACP young professionals to attend the hallmark European Youth Event 2016 in Strasbourg. ACPYPN also aims to be integrated into the framework of European Development Days 2016, for the first time in forty years of technical European Union and ACP cooperation. ACPYPN aims to connect with young professionals networks in ACP countries order to foster international synergies for solidarity.

Last night, we organised the first social networking event post-covid. We were joined by an amazing guest, H.E. Cheryl Bazard, Ambassador of The Bahamas to the EU, who discussed the road to the 50th anniversary of Bahamas' independence, the state of affairs, and the role of the diaspora.

Thanks to everyone who came out last night in Brussels! Looking forward to the next one!

We are alarmed by first-hand accounts detailing racial profiling, aggressive treatment, and obstruction of people of African descent at the EU-Ukraine borders.

As the conflict escalates, intimidating and refusing people of African descent at the EU-Ukraine borders violates their right to life and member states’ responsibility to protect this right. Given the rapidly closing window to secure safety, access to evacuation through the EU’s borders must be a prioritised humanitarian response.

We, therefore, call all authorities to strengthen coordination and the protection of people of African descent.
