Supporting volunteering in Europe since 1992!

The Centre for European Volunteering (Centre européen du volontariat, CEV) is the European network of over 60 national, regional and local volunteer centres and volunteer support agencies across Europe. Through our network we work together to promote and support volunteering through advocacy, knowledge sharing and capacity building & training. In this way we reach out to the many thousands of volunteers and volunteer organisations who look to volunteer centres a source of support bringing the European dimension to their work. CEV channels the collective priorities and concerns of its member organisations to the institutions of the European Union and the Council of Europe. Together with other European networks active in volunteering we exchange policy, practice and information in order to ensure effective and coherent follow up to European Year of Volunteering 2011 and ensure its legacy through the implementation of the Policy Agenda for Volunteering in Europe (PAVE) and the follow-up "Helping Hands - Hope for Europe" report.

Day 2 of the CEV Autumn Volunteering Congress 2026: this morning our members meet at Mundo Madou for the CEV General Assembly.

Thank you to the speakers, partners and participants who made yesterday's programme possible, from the UVMIS and TEAM IV projects to the four EV Capital 2028 candidates and everyone who shared their International Volunteer Year updates.

The race for European Volunteering Capital 2028 is on 🏆

This evening at the CEV Autumn Volunteering Congress, Lleida (Spain), Odder (Denmark), Pilsen (Czechia) and Reggio Emilia (Italy) presented their candidacies to a jury that included Marin Florian, Member of the European Economic and Social Committee and the CEV Board.

They were joined by Maia, European Volunteering Capital 2026, and County Clare, EV Capital 2027.

🌍 TEAM IV Final Conference: Making Volunteering More Inclusive

The TEAM IV Final Conference brought together partners, volunteers, mentors, mentees and stakeholders to reflect on how volunteer mentoring can make volunteering more inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities.

During the event, we shared the project results and heard personal experiences from mentors and mentees, alongside reflections from Loredana Dicsi, from the European Disability Forum.

Through interactive discussions in English, Spanish, Italian and Bulgarian, participants explored good practices, existing barriers, practical tools and the steps needed to make volunteer mentoring the route to making volunteering more accessible for people with disabilities.

Together, we can share experiences, strengthen collaboration and help shape a more inclusive volunteering sector and society! 💙

Behind every sports club and event there are volunteer managers 🏅

With more than 125 participants in the room, we heard from the , European Lotteries and Team Kinetic, and presented the UVMIS (Upskilling Volunteer Managers in Sport) Policy Recommendations.

Now on to the breakout sessions on ethics, European values, inclusion and sports events!

The CEV Autumn Volunteering Congress 2026 is open!

CEV President Lejla Sehic Relic has welcomed participants in Brussels and opened two days dedicated to volunteering across Europe. Coming up: sport volunteering and the UVMIS Policy Recommendations, inclusive volunteer mentoring with TEAM IV, International Volunteer Year 2026 updates, the European Volunteering Capital 2028 candidates and, tomorrow, our General Assembly.

📅On 6 and 7 October 2026, the partners in our Erasmus+ funded 'Volunteering for Inclusion and Empowerment with Sports’ (VIEWS) project met in Ljubljana, Slovenia 🇸🇮 for the fourth transnational partner meeting.

👉Partners especially focused on the ongoing creation of outputs for sports clubs and organisations to create more inclusive sports volunteering opportunities for people with disabilities as well the upcoming testing period of the project outputs.

👉As part of the meeting, partners had the chance to visit the Association for Culture of Inclusion - an organisation offering adapted sports programmes, inclusive guidance and cultural events, as well as one-to-one companionship and leisure activities for young people with disabilities, hearing about their best practices.

📌VIEWS aims at innovation by focusing on the integration and empowerment of people with disabilities through sports volunteering - a largely underexplored area in existing sports and volunteering programmes.
