The Youth Assembly is underway in Geneva, and its Global Educators Academy track is officially in full swing! 🌍✨

📍Today marks Day 2 of workshop activities for 46 passionate young educators and scholarship recipients. The 2.5-day workshop introduces experiential learning activities and the core pedagogical principles of to certified teachers, student teachers, and non-formal education providers. Following the workshop, participants will join over 500 global delegates for the 31st AFS Youth Assembly conference from August 12–14!

📍This year's workshop was carefully co-designed and co-delivered by the incredible global education team at AFS Intercultural Programs alongside EFIL’s Education Project Officer.🤝

📢 New resource out now: “Advancing digital education for every learner: innovative practices from the EU” has just been released, showcasing how schools and education actors across Europe are putting digital education into practice.
The document is organised around three focus areas: strengthening digital competences, rethinking learning spaces and classroom practices, and supporting digital well-being for learners and educators.📱💙

The European Commission has now officially registered the European Citizens’ Initiative All On Board ECI - For your right to Citizenship without Borders, enabling organisers to begin preparations for the signature collection campaign. At EFIL, we support this initiative, recognising the right to - among others - as a key part of strengthening , in the effort to ensure equal access to cross-border learning opportunities.

🌻Another year, another EFIL Volunteer Summer Summit - VSS wrapped up! Our proudest volunteer gathering bringing together Active Global Citizens: AFS volunteers from all over Europe. 💙🌍
From 19-24 July 2026, we met in Connemara, Ireland 🇮🇪 with:
✨ 100+ participants.
🧩 15 workshops across the week.
🌍 20+ nationalities learning and sharing together.

This year´s focus, “Active Digital Citizenship for resilient Students and Volunteers,” explored how digital citizenship education can support responsible participation, critical thinking and connection in our communities.

And of course, VSS is also about the moments in between: an Irish storyteller, a céilí, and even a game of rounders made the week truly special.🍀A big thank you to the volunteer team behind the scenes, and to EIL Intercultural Learning for hosting, supporting the programme, and sharing Irish culture so generously.🤝💚 Ready for Egypt next year? 🎉

📣 EFIL joins the EU Youth Dialogue 12th Cycle!
Today, on World Youth Skills Day, we are excited to announce that EFIL was selected as an international NGO to join the 12th Cycle of the , contributing our expertise at European level. 🎊 This cycle is coordinated by Ireland, Lithuania and Greece, under the theme “Information and Constructive Dialogue.”
🎯 This is a concrete step in bringing our network’s experience into a European process that connects young people, youth organisations and decision-makers.
🎯 The EU Youth Dialogue (EUYD) is a participation mechanism for in the EU. It supports European cooperation on youth priorities and the implementation of the European Youth Goals at local, national and European level.
Our Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) members will be leading this work and making a real impact. They will meet in person during the EFIL Volunteer Summer Summit starting this Sunday to shape our contribution from the start. 🤝
