European Forum Of Muslim Women - EFOMW

European Forum Of Muslim Women - EFOMW European Forum of Muslim Women So officials associations from different European countries participated in working meetings and exchange, and this since 2003.

The European Forum of Muslim Women has been created at the beginning of 2006, following a series of the European Coordination of Muslim female associations active in several European countries. It works within the European Union for the consolidation of bonds and the exchange of experience between the various members in order to support the involvment of the Muslim woman in the society as a citize

n and to better response to her worries and to defend her interests and apply to the European and international authorities. The issues that were central to discussions of this platform issues emerged on the commitment of Muslim women in European society and its arrangements for its complete success. Another concern is the increasing discrimination and racism against him. After three years of coordination and cooperation between various Muslim women's associations in Europe, and before the conclusion of the vacuum on the representation of Muslim women in Europe, an urgent request was felt to stand as an interlocutor with the authorities European civil society or official organizations and associations of Muslim and non Muslim. This coordination has therefore decided to create the EFOMW (European Forum Of Muslim Women). Such a Forum could speak on behalf of Muslim women in Europe, their problems, their aspirations and could provide the social realities of Muslim women and defend their causes. Several sites will be the focus of reflection for the promotion of the culture of dialogue, guaranteeing the right to live together in Europe, shared future for all.

➡️DiREC: Dialogue, Education and Respect in the Classroom – The Way to a Plural and Democratic Europe, was a two year Erasmus+ project where EFOMW participated as a partner organisation. Lead by Centro Cultural Islámico de Valencia (CCIV) the project aimed to tackle polarization and worrying growth of the marginalization in schools, which can lead students, regardless of their origin or culture, to approach to hate ideologies .

The main objective of the project was the establishment of a stable network of intersectoral, multicultural and multidenominational work in order to promote diversity and peaceful coexistence in classrooms through shared leadership and solidarity among colleagues within the classroom, but also outside of it, creating a feeling of respect and support that overcomes cultural, religious and social barriers.
Project also produced practical guides to promote diversity in and outside the classroom

Today, the 15th of March has been proclaimed by the UN as the international day to combat Islamophobia. General Assembly made this decision unanimously, calling for global dialogue that promotes tolerance, peace and respect for human rights and religious diversity. There is a need for concrete action in the face of rising hatred, discrimination and violence against Muslims. Muslim women can suffer “triple discrimination” because of their gender, ethnicity, and faith. Learn more about what Islamophobia is here:

🎉 Today we celebrate All Women around the world, their achievements and contribution to family, society and the world 🫶

💪 Women have been at the forefront of social and political change throughout history. Women's role in wellbeing of society is unquestionable, but still women are most freequent victims of violence in war and in peace, are more at risk to live in poverty, and are often deprived basic human rights.

✊ We continue to work towards more inclusion, more space and opportunities for women of all backgrounds,
✊ for more in our societies,
🌟 and for Our voice to be heard in questions that concern Us!

Society where women are neglected can not be a healthy society.

International Day of Holocaust Remembrance

▪️ On this day we remember victims of Holocaust
▪️ We remember all survivors and their pain
▪️ More than 6 million Jews and others killed because they didn't fit in the picture of a "pure nation"!

➡️ When we speek of holocaust we tend to speek in numbers, huge numbers, but let's stop for a moment and think of each of them, each person, a family member, a friend, a human being with memories, fears, hopes, dreams...
📣 'Never Again' must be more than just a hollow word echoing in the corridors of our institutions
📣 Lets stand for 'Never Again' to No one, Nowhere!

▪️
First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

📢 ENAR launches a new toolkit: 'Structural Racism in the Labour Market'.

Check how to: 👇
☑️Create workplaces with principles of equality and equity at their core;
☑️ Dismantle barriers related to structural racism in the workplace;
☑️Challenge dominant power structures in their workplaces.

➡️The toolkit challenges traditional diversity management practices by addressing structural racism in the labour market and uncovering structural discrimination patterns based on deep-seated social hierarchies.
➡️It requires a method that examines power structures within the workplace in order to generate new organisational management styles.

Subject matter  Structural racism is embedded in society, unfolding in all areas of life. In the labour market, it translates into structural inequalities resulting in racialised people being denied employment, income, and being overly present in precarious and difficult industries and positions.
