Atlantic Assembly 🇳🇱

In April, Jonge Atlantici (YATA Netherlands) held this year's edition of the Atlantic Assembly, in the Hague.

This Seminar was held under the theme "Navigating Uncertainty", hosting a war-game and hosting discussions with high-level speakers, such as the Dutch Minister of Defence, Dilan Yesilgöz-Zagerius.

The Board of YATA International attended this event, represented by its President, Francisco Nobre, and Vice-President for P***c Diplomacy, Kerem Erkus

The event was also a great opportunity to connect with several YATA Members. We congratulate Jonge Atlantici for organising this event and for warmly welcoming those attending 👏

On the 10-12th of April YATA Norway hosted a 21st edition of their annual “Nordic Security Conference”, under the theme “Preparing for Insecurity in a More Fragmented World”.

Over the weekend Norsec 2026 brought together over 100 participants from a total of 27 countries to discuss how power, security and diplomacy are being reshaped in an increasingly fragmented international system.

Among topics discussed were the future of security cooperation and diplomacy, lessons from the war in Ukraine, hybrid threats and disinformation, as well as the growing strategic importance of the Arctic and the High North.

The programme also featured high-level contributions from the Minister of Foreign Affairs Espen Barth Eide and the Chief of the Norwegian Defense Staff Lieutenant General Ingrid Margrethe Gjerde.

The Board of YATA International was represented by Executive Vice-President Benedicte Røvik, who also moderated the first panel with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and EU ambassador, and Vice President for Public Diplomacy Kerem Erkus.

YATA International Executive Board will like to extend our congratulations and gratitude to the Project Managers of Norsec 2026 Gaute Øien Tollan, Kristina Kvist and Marie Nordlie, together with the president of YATA Norway, Richard Federhofer and the Board of YATA Norway.

NATO's Future Seminar 2025 🇩🇪

From November 7th to the 9th, YATA Germany hosted this year's edition of its NATO's Future Seminar in Berlin.

This Seminar focused on defence spending, civil-military cooperation and hybrid warfare. The topics were aligned as panels and later as workshops, where participants developed policy recommendations.

This event was hosted by the Secretary-General of YATA International, Leonhard Simon. Our Board was also represented by its President, Francisco Nobre.

During the event, participants also had the opportunity to engage in a panel in the Bundestag to better understand the context of defence in Germany.

We express our congratulations to YATA Germany for their outstanding organization and for hosting meaningful discussions between youth leaders. 👏

𝐘𝐀𝐓𝐀 𝐚𝐭 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐎 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 – 𝟕𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧

The 71st Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly was held from 10 to 13 of October in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

This Annual event brings together parliamentarians from NATO and partner countries to discuss existing security challenges, propose and adopt resolutions, and to shape recommendations for the policy-making of the Alliance.

YATA was represented by YATA Slovenia, the youth section of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia, namely its President, Matic Kosirnik. This participation led to youth engagement and contribution during discussions held, as well as contact with the President of the NATO PA, Marcos Perestrello.

The Board of the Atlantic Treaty Association also attended this Session, having met with several policymakers and NATO representatives.

This Session of the NATO PA also marked the appointment of Dr. Benedetta Berti as its new Secretary-General. As YATA, we share our congratulations for this well-deserved nomination.

IX Youth Mediterranean Dialogue 🇪🇸

From September 29th to October 2nd, YATA Spain (COAJE) and the Spanish Army hosted the IX Youth Mediterranean Dialogue (YMD) in Madrid, Spain.

This year’s edition of YMD was focused on the pressing security challenges in the Sahel, the Southern Flank, and the evolving dimensions of information warfare and OSINT.

YATA International was represented by Kerem Erkus, Vice President for Public Diplomacy, who participated on behalf of the International Board.

Throughout the Dialogue, participants took part in high-level panels, workshops, and a wargaming simulation at CESEDEN.

We express our sincere appreciation to YATASpain - COAJE for their outstanding organization and for fostering meaningful dialogue between the next generation of transatlantic and Mediterranean leaders.

Northern Security Dialogues 🇸🇪🇫🇮🇳🇴

From the 19th to 21st of September, YATA Sweden, together with YATA Norway and YATA Finland hosted the third and final conference of their joint project 'Northern Security Dialogues 2024-2025' in Stockholm, Sweden.

This event gathered 40 representatives from YATA Sweden, YATA Norway, YATA Denmark and Natonuoret for discussions on the Security of the Baltic Region and the Nordic Defence Industry.

The event welcomed several renowned guests, including Pål Jonson, the Swedish Minister of Defence.

We express our congratulations to YATA Sweden, YATA Norway and YATA Finland for all their efforts in jointly organising this insightful project 👏
