The United Nations Regional Information Centre- UNRIC, together with Belgium’s Federal Public Service Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment, at today's SDG Forum in Brussels, discussing “Climate and information integrity”.

Reliable information is essential for informed public debate and effective climate action. Yet misinformation and disinformation can distort understanding of climate change, undermine trust, and make it harder for people to identify credible information.

Three experts examined both the global context and practical responses. With Sherri Aldis of UNRIC, Amandine Sauvage of QuotaClimat and Miriam Remshard of the University of Cambridge.

The 2026 Nobel Peace Prize goes to South African Navanethem “Navi” Pillay, the former UN Human Rights High Commissioner and human rights pioneer, “for her efforts to promote peace and international law.” Pillay played an integral part in the anti-apartheid movement and served as a judge on the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
