No rest for the INSPIRE project! This summer we successfully delivered the content of the Vocational Open Online Course.

What are they about? We will present you each module in the coming weeks, starting with Module 1 today!

MODULE 1 - Sustainability in the Performing Arts Sector
Here’s what you’ll explore in this module:
✨ What sustainability really means – and how it can be applied to the performing arts
✨ European sustainability legislation explained for the arts
✨ Understanding the energy footprint of cultural productions
✨ Climate change and its impact on the performing arts
✨ Circular economy in action – and why it matters to culture
✨ Developing a sustainability strategy – ESG criteria in cultural productions
✨ Practical tools and inspiring examples from leaders in the sector

This module introduces the foundations of sustainability — from climate change, energy efficiency and circular economy to key regulations — giving participants the knowledge they need to put into practice in the next module.

Through training, networking opportunities, and STEPP Magazine, it connects members to resources and industry insights—while also standing up for better education, workplace safety, and recognition of creative and technical professions.
🚀 Role: Within INSPIRE, STEPP has developed the brand-new ESCO Competences Package for a sustainable performing arts sector. They are also co-creating the INSPIRE Training Programme and a Practical Handbook for Trainers, ensuring that knowledge is both shared and put into practice.
