✒️ Proud to celebrate the signature and launch of two ambitious multi-stakeholder projects, CLEAN ATM 2 and GREEN CNS prepared by SESAR Deployment Manager, today with CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency's Director Paloma Aba Garrote and EUROCONTROL
's Director General Raúl Medina Caballero in its role as SESAR Deployment Manager Consortium Coordinator, awarding 141 million euro to and projects.

✅ This is another important milestone in the long-standing SESAR Deployment Manager mandate to support and assist stakeholders and their commitment to SESAR deployment and ATM modernisation. It is also rewarding to see the participation of UKSATSE | Іди на @уй російський літак ✈️ to one of the projects: this a testament to the hard work and cooperation we put in place to further anchor in the transport system.

✈️ We are on a promising path for the future: we are not only building on the initial ambition of the CLEAN ATM initiative by adding an additional € 175 million investment through CLEAN ATM 2, but also – for the first time under the SDM mandate – we are joining forces with airlines, airports and air navigation service providers across Europe to modernise our common infrastructure. We look forward to continuing this journey with all our Implementing Partners, playing our part in building the European Air Traffic Management systems and infrastructure of the future.

ℹ️ It provides a common workplan to all operational stakeholders involved in Air Traffic Management modernisation through Common Project One , clearly defining the scope of the implementation activities, the synchronisation needs as well as the suggested approach.

👏 Congrats to EUROCONTROL for the completion of the Project Towards Shared Business Trajectory / Trajectory Based Operations, also contributed by Sabre Corporation / CAE Flight Services.

✅ The Network Manager technical components and CAE system adaptation for eFPL exchanges were implemented. The supporting materials for future operational use were elaborated.

✅ This implementation project contributed to the deployment of the Deployment Programme Family 5.6.1 “Flight Information Exchange” by the Network Manager (NM).

✅ Based on previous CBAs, under the assumption of CP1 full deployment, the project represents a significant contribution to improve ATC capacity, ATCO productivity at network level and an increase of flight efficiency and capacity for the years to come as of 2024 with an estimated benefit of some €25 million.

✈ The NM systems deployment of the project allowed the implementation of operational processes and procedures in compliance with the ICAO FF-ICE R1 pre-departure phase developments and making use of the yellow SWIM TI Profile.

✈ Additionally, the NM services will continue to support the existing messaging data exchanges in order to allow the progressive migration of the stakeholders to SWIM compliant technologies.

🎤 "We are proud as EUROCONTROL to have exchanged and negotiated the 4D Trajectory between NM and airspace users and ATC (ANSPs, Airports) via the implementation of the ICAO FF-ICE (FF-ICE/1 phase 2 and Phase 3 (Planning phase) provisions, procedures and processes in compliance with the yellow SWIM TI Profile.

The tangible deliverables for NM of the FPFDE Implementation Strategy for TBO and FF-ICE, three NM system releases (25.26,27), Ops documentation for NM Releases, IFPS Manual, and various guidelines.

Furthermore, NM has contributed to the definition of processes, procedures and any standard related to FF-ICE/2 (Ex*****on phase) in ICAO, which will serve for later implementation.

Our implementing partner CAE has transformed its Flight Planning Systems and developed operational procedures, aligned with the above mentioned NM releases and NM B2B connections, in the context of FF-ICE/1, FIXM, and SWIM Yellow Profile."

✈️Today, the European Commission has launched the 2024 CEF 2 Transport Call for Proposals with a total budget of 2.5 bn euro to support modernization in European transport and open to all modes.

📌One of the core areas covered by the Call is Smart and interoperable mobility with an overall budget of 640 million euro for all modes of transport including aviation and covering also SESAR Common Project One Implementation projects.

📌This is a unique opportunity for Deployment Air Traffic Management Modernization stakeholders to submit projects and have access to EU co-funding support. The Call includes two critical deployment objectives: the timely and synchronized implementation of Common Project One (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/116), and the evolution and modernisation of the Communication, Navigation and Surveillance infrastructure. SDM is ready to assist stakeholders on both elements.

👏 Congrats to Borealis Alliance and its members AirNav Ireland, Avinor, EANS, Fintraffic ANS, Isavia ANS, Naviair - The Official Site, NATS, LFV and LGS for completing Part 2 of the Borealis FRA implementation Project.

✅ The Borealis Free Route Airspace (FRA) was extended by joining the Scottish, Irish and Icelandic Airspaces to the already implemented within the NEFRA (North European Free Route Airspace) Programme.

🛫 This implementation project contributes to the deployment of the Deployment Programme "Family 3.2.2 Enhanced FRA Operations” in , , , , , , , and .

👌 This project has enabled all the members of Borealis to develop and implement their respective programmes increasing FRA operations throughout the collective Borealis airspace.

💚 It is part of other projects conducted by the Borealis Alliance and will complement the Cross Border Free Route implementation generating up to 0,5M tons of CO2 , besides and improvements.

🎤 Reynir Sigurdsson: "The Borealis Alliance is a pioneer in implementing a cross-border, free route airspace (FRA) among its nine national airspaces. Cross border implementation was already achieved by 2018, further implemented in 2023 and full implementation is planned by the end of 2027. Partial FRA implementation has already delivered substantial benefits."

🛫 Fruitful exchange and visit with our Implementing Partners Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic, and Prague Airport - Letiště Praha yesterday. ANS CR Director General Jan KLAS, Jaroslav Pekarek, CAA CR, and Jiří Pos, CEO and Chairman of the Board Prague airport, welcomed Mariagrazia La Piscopia and her team for an analysis on the status of Common Project 1 aka
, deployment, achievements and upcoming challenges. It was also an opportunity to exchange on further engagement in ATM modernisation projects in perspective of a new 2024 CEF 2 Transport Call for Proposals. Great to see strong commitment to and through deployment .

Jan KLAS, Director General of ANS CR, said: " I highly appreciate the role of SDM in deploying the key project aimed at improvement of the capacity of the European ATM. In the future I expect from SDM to strengthen its role in delivering the reliable future solutions and in promoting the cross border service provision."

During the site visit of the operational premises of ANS CR and Prague Airport, Mariagrazia La Piscopia said: ”Our priority is supporting members and implementing partners facilitating a harmonised roll-out of CP1, acceleration of deployment and mitigation of risks . I am grateful of the fruitful exchange and trust framework established with Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic, Prague Airport and the local National supervisory Authority. Let’s continue delivering !”
