Who are we? In many countries it’s very difficult or even impossible to organise a Pride or an LGBTQI+ festival.

• Direct support to Prides and LGBTQI+ festivals that ask for international solidarity
• Organise delegations to support these events on the ground
• Create partnerships be-tween Belgian organisations and organisers of Prides or LGBTQI+ festivals abroad

Wie zijn wij? In vele landen is het zeer moeilijk of zelfs onmogelijk om een Pride of een LGBTQI+ festival te organiseren. De LGBTQI+ verenigingen hebben te weinig middelen en staan onder druk. Rainbowfriends wil de organisatoren van deze evenementen steunen en met hen tot uitwisselingen komen. Op welke manier ?
• directe steun aan Prides en aan LGBTQI+festivals die om internationale steun vragen
• de organisatie van delegaties om die evenementen ter plaatse te steunen
• het creëren van partenariaten tussen Belgische verenigingen en organisatoren van Prides of LGBTQI+ festivals in het buitenland

Qui sommes-nous ? Dans de nombreux pays, il est très difficile, voire impossible, d'organiser une Pride ou un festival LGBTQI+. Les associations LGBTQI+ ont trop peu de ressources et sont sous pression. Rainbowfriends veut soutenir et échanger avec les organisateurs de ces événements. comment ?
- soutien direct aux Prides et aux festivals LGBTQI+ demandant un soutien international
- l'organisation de délégations pour soutenir ces événements sur place
- la création de partenariats entre les associations belges et les organisateurs de Prides ou de festivals LGBTQI+ à l'étranger

🚨 Reports indicate that police have recommended pressing charges against Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony for this year’s Budapest Pride.

🏳️‍🌈 300,000 marched at Budapest Pride in June despite a government ban. Mayor Gergely Karácsony, who declared Pride a municipal event, could face up to a year in prison if charged and convicted under Hungary’s new Assembly Act.

🇪🇺 If reports are confirmed, this would mean that the mayor of a capital in the EU is facing investigations simply for allowing LGBTI people to gather safely and visibly in public.

💬 Mayor Karácsony stated: “I am proud that I took every political risk for the sake of my city's freedom, and I stand proudly before the court to defend my own freedom and the freedom of my city.”

❗ These developments deepen concerns that the Assembly Act is being used to silence dissent and limit democratic participation, especially ahead of the 2026 elections.

📣 ILGA-Europe calls on the EU to take immediate and urgent steps to protect the right to peaceful assembly in Hungary.
