Movement is a form of care.

For your body, yes, but also for your mind. For your mood. For the quiet moments when you need to reset.

Mental health support doesn't always begin with a clinical intervention or a complex programme.

Sometimes it starts with stepping outside. With choosing to move, even when it's the last thing you feel like doing.

Small acts, repeated consistently, matter.
This is the reminder keeps coming back to.

A 10-minute walk during the day can genuinely shift how you feel.

No gym membership. No schedule overhaul. No pressure to do it perfectly.

Just a small, consistent practice โ€” repeated over time โ€” that quietly supports your mental wellbeing.

This is the kind of evidence-based, practical approach that organisations across Europe are embedding into their work at the intersection of mental health and active living.

Small changes.

Real impact.

1 in 4 Europeans will experience a mental health issue this year.

That's not just a statistic.
That's your colleague. Your neighbor. Maybe someone you love.

Physical activity is one of the most accessible, evidence-based tools we have to support mental wellbeing, yet it remains underused in mental health care across Europe.

ENALMH exists to change that.

"You don't have to be an athlete to benefit from movement. You just have to start." ๐Ÿ’›

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to active living, and that's the whole point.

A morning walk. A gentle stretch. Swimming. Dancing in your kitchen at 7pm.

Whatever movement looks like for you โ€” it counts. And your mental health is worth showing up for.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Tell us: what's your favourite way to move?

Disability Rights are Human Rights.

At ENALMH, we believe that access to mental health support through movement and active living must be equal for everyone, regardless of disability, background, gender, or age.

Discrimination doesn't just affect bodies. It affects minds.

When we talk about active living for mental health, we mean active living for ALL. No exceptions.

๐Ÿ’š Share this if you believe everyone deserves equal access to mental health support.

ฮคhis International Women's Day, we want to talk about something that doesn't get enough attention. ๐Ÿ’œ

Women's mental health. And the role that movement can play.

Here are three facts that matter:

๐Ÿ“Š Women are nearly twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with depression.
(Source: World Health Organization, 2024)

๐Ÿ“Š 49% of women in the EU say they never exercise or play sport โ€” compared to 40% of men.
(Source: Eurobarometer 525, European Commission, 2022)

๐Ÿ“Š The physical inactivity gap between women and men has remained unchanged for nearly 20 years.
(Source: Messing et al., BMC Public Health, 2019 | Guthold et al., ScienceDirect, 2024)

These are not just numbers.

They point to real structural barriers time, safety, access, social norms, that keep women from using one of the most evidence-based tools for mental wellbeing: physical activity.

At ENALMH, we believe movement is self-care. Not a luxury. Not a reward. A right.

We support the European Disability Rights Week 2025 ๐Ÿ’™

This week, we join organisations and communities across Europe in highlighting the rights, inclusion and wellbeing of persons with disabilities.

At ENALMH, we believe that everyone deserves the chance to participate, move, connect and thrive.

Physical activity and active living are powerful ways to support mental health, build confidence and create stronger, more inclusive communities.

Together with our member organisations, we work to:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Make physical activity accessible for all
๐Ÿ‘‰Promote mental wellbeing and psychosocial inclusion
๐Ÿ‘‰Break down the barriers that limit participation
๐Ÿ‘‰Support a Europe where everyone feels seen, valued and included

The European Disability Rights Week reminds us how important it is to stand together for equality and dignity โ€” not just today, but every day.

Letโ€™s keep building a Europe where inclusion, movement and mental health go hand in hand. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’ช
