📰 In a new interview with Euractiv's Niko Kurmayer, CEER Secretary General Bram Claeys explains what national energy regulators actually do; from assessing grid investment costs to deciding how those costs are fairly allocated across consumers. He also discusses regulator independence, the recent ECJ ruling on the topic and why the European Commission's 17 July proposal on electricity bills matters for how tariffs are designed going forward.

A useful read for anyone trying to understand the role of regulators in the EU's grid buildout. Full interview here: https://www.euractiv.com/news/interview-eu-electricity-bill-law-interferes-with-independence-of-regulators/

With less than two weeks left, we invite stakeholders across the energy sector to contribute to CEER’s public consultation on its draft 2027 Work Programme.

The programme includes 16 work items built around three strategic priorities: optimising market-based solutions; empowering and protecting consumers while promoting affordability and accessibility; and deepening the integration of a decarbonised energy system.

💬 As CEER President Pedro Verdelho emphasises: “Well-functioning markets, strong consumer protection and an efficient energy transition must move forward together.”

Stakeholders experience the energy system from different perspectives. Your feedback can highlight emerging challenges and help CEER focus its work where it can add the greatest value.
