Untold Asian Stories

Untold Asian Stories Giving Asian voices a platform in Flanders to connect with their roots, fellow Asians and share it with the world. Hey daar!

Kortom: we

vonden het tijd om hier samen iets aan te doen en een community op te starten waarin dit hopelijk allemaal mogelijk is!

Yesterday was a historic moment. The psychologist of the year award went to .ama.kissi, who won the prize with her book ‘White care, black suffering: why mental health fails for people of color’. As individuals with a migration background, she explains in the book why a therapeutic space never can be neutral. Thank you and also the other guest speakers for the enlightening evening. 🫶

We are excited to welcome you to our next potluck. This time we are meeting in Ghent!

We try to organize one every other month on Saturdays from 12pm, hosted by one of our community member or a public space.

Everyone can bring their favorite veggie or vegan dish(es) and we’ll share our food the Asian way. 💚

Registration is official when you receive a confirmation mail from us. That will be sent about 1 week beforehand and will include the address as well.

We never imagined we would be organising an intro to k!nk workshop… but here we are…

Over the past months, several of you reached out with curiosity, questions, and a desire to explore this space — and we love that. So we’re creating a warm, welcoming, Asians-only space where curiosity is enough. No experience needed, no expectations — just an invitation to explore, learn, and connect at our own pace.

What to expect:
Sensation play is a workshop to explore our senses. During various exercise sessions, participants will experience a sensory journey in small groups by playing with materials, sounds, intensities,...

It is also a space to practice and train consent. During all exercises, nothing is mandatory. You’ll be invited to verbalize your boundaries all along as well as your desires, to listen to those of others, and to adjust accordingly.

The goal of this workshop is to experiment with (self)erot!c energy, connection to the body, and its sensations. This space is dedicated to pleasure, to giving and receiving.

About the facilitator:
Rob (he/him) is the founder of Beautiful Things, a s3x-positive shop dedicated to exploring sexuality through education, practice, and dialogue. His work focuses on building a more inclusive, ethical, and ecological approach to intimacy.

Through workshops that blend theory and hands-on exploration, he centers consent as the foundation of every interaction. With his deep, grounding voice, he helps create a safer space where people can grow, learn, and expand their capacity for intimacy and connection.

We know stepping into something new can feel vulnerable — especially in spaces where we haven’t always felt represented or safe. That’s why we’re holding this with care, softness, and respect for everyone’s pace.

Come as you are. Curiosity is enough.

What does Untold Asian Stories do?

We strive for a society where the experiences of people with Asian backgrounds are recognized, visible, and valued. A society where nuance, depth, and connection have space to grow—and where diversity is understood as something natural, not exceptional.

At Untold Asian Stories, we believe every story matters. We create space for these stories to be shared, heard, and held. Through conversation and community, we bring people together and build meaningful connection.

We warmly welcome anyone with Asian roots who feels connected to our mission. By Asian roots, we mean heritage from anywhere across the Asian continent.

This includes people who:
• were born in Asia and migrated to Belgium
• have one or more (grand)parents from Asia
• are adopted from an Asian country
• or identify with Asian heritage in any way

HEY! WE SEE YOU. 🤍

Today, on the International Day Against Racism, we want to take a moment to speak directly to our community.

To everyone who has ever felt unseen, unheard, or alone in their experiences with racism: we see you.

We see your struggles.
We see your strength.
We see your beauty and your stories.

Racism didn’t appear overnight, and it won’t disappear overnight. But change happens when we stand together, support one another, and continue to speak up.

If you’re going through something and need to talk, please know you don’t have to carry it alone. Our community is here for you.

You can DM us or join our Discord through the link in our bio if you want a space to talk, share, or simply be heard.

You belong here.

Together, we keep going. Together, we create change
