✨ BELONGING is open! ✨
Last Friday, we opened our doors to five artists, five very different worlds — and one question that seems to run through all of them:
Where, and how, do we belong?
Through an octopus transforming lived emotions, .lemmy explores the inner landscapes we all carry. 🐙
follows territories, migration and human journeys — with landscapes, boats and schools of fish becoming metaphors for the paths we travel, outside and within. 🌊
Peter Castles lets the cube search for its place in a world where nature rarely moves in straight lines: nature curves, transmission — giving form to histories we may not remember, but somehow still carry.undulates and flows, while we humans build blocks, borders and boxes.
travels through heritage, inherited memory and cultural
And turns the traces of our urban lives — tyres, machinery and obsolete carriers of memory — into contemporary relics, asking what remains of the present once it becomes history.
And together, they embody Artuel at its core.
Art that transmutes — emotion into image, migration into journey, inherited memory into presence, industrial remnants into relics, and even the rigid human-made cube into a question about where and how we belong.
Five very different practices, yet each revealing art as a living movement of transformation: carrying what was, reshaping what is, and opening space for another way of seeing ourselves, each other and the world around us.
This is Artuel. And this is BELONGING. ✨
Over the course of this month, each artist will share in depth the stories behind their work. Look out for our upcoming posts, where we’ll explore each of their worlds, inspirations and transformations more deeply.
