Just published! New article "Weapons vs. Welfare" on the budgetary allocations of countries to the military and security issue versus climate, environment, health and social issues. As part of the Tahadhari Center research work, we developed a model for empirical estimation of the Policy Trade-Off Index (PTI), and compared the index status in European countries with the Middle East and the Gulf. The full research report will be published soon, in the meantime we can report that in order to survive, in welfare, the war economy must be changed in favor of a social and ecological economy.
