Symbolising the building of bridges between different communities and groups - a foundational aspect of peacebuilding - we're excited to be represented by this fresh, modern look.

And that's not all - we'll also soon be launching our brand new website. Stay tuned.

EPLO, VOICE and CONCORD’s reception for new MEPs and their staff last Wednesday (Sep 11) was a great success. The three network directors, as well as and , spoke on the need for the EU to renew its commitment to humanitarian, development, and peace issues to meet this difficult global moment. Afterwards, civil society representatives and parliamentary staff mixed informally and networked, over refreshments.

Today, EPLO held a Brown Bag Lunch discussion on “Managing Difficult Pasts in Transitional Societies: What We Can Learn from the Northern Ireland Legacy Act”. Dr Sara McDowell and Prof Joanne Murphy led a discussion on the complexity of legacy management, the importance of inclusive processes, and the role of the state in peacebuilding. Thank you to our two speakers for presenting the results of their work and to all civil society and policymaker participants for their contributions to the exchange.

EPLO and Conciliation Resources held a roundtable discussion last Thursday on “Mediating Self-Determination Conflicts”. Both the introductory speakers and participants contributed to a rich exchange covering theoretical underpinnings, best practices, lessons learned from past experience, and ongoing areas presenting particular challenges. The discussion drew from a wide range of conflict cases including the Jammu and Kashmir conflict, the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict and the autonomous Bangsamoro region in the Philippines.

This week, EPLO conducted a three-day seminar for civil society groups on advocacy towards the on funding for . We were joined by guest speakers from NGOs, the , and FPI, and the programme included a visit to the European Parliament. Participants said they left with a much better understanding of the EU’s funding mechanisms and felt much more confident advocating for more resources for 🕊🇪🇺
