On June 8, 2026, we hosted our annual Summer Drink! ☀️

We were thrilled to welcome 250 event professionals to the stunning Africa Palace in Tervuren for an evening filled with great connections, refreshing drinks, and engaging conversations.

The networking event for the event sector was preceded by our General Assembly earlier in the day.

𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸! ☀️✨

Tonight, we’re welcoming about 250 event professionals to the beautiful Africa Palace in Tervuren for a cozy summer evening full of great connections, drinks, and conversations.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁: 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀! Before the drinks and music start flowing, we are kicking things off with our General Assembly to share our future ambitions and look back at an incredible year.

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻! 🎉 Since 2025, Event Confederation has transformed into a true membership organisation, welcoming federations, companies, and freelancers directly.

To power this growth, we have divided the event sector into 8 clusters:

👉 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀: event agencies, congresses & exhibitions, public events
👉 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀: technical support, non-technical support, venues, crew, catering

Each cluster will henceforth be represented in a new Board of Directors. More updates on this soon …

During the build-up and breakdown phases, event sites are legally classified as temporary or mobile construction sites. This means everyone working on-site must have completed a basic safety training course.

To help you and your team stay compliant, we’re launching a new series of practical 𝗧𝗠𝗕/𝗖𝗧𝗠 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 training courses in collaboration with SPOQ Academy, designed specifically for the event sector.

Today, our members of the clusters Technical Support, Non-Technical Support, and Crew visited Barco for an amazing Experience Tour.

Did you know that this global entertainment tech giant started over 90 years ago as a small Belgian radio and TV developer? Talk about scaling up! 📈

We got a guided tour through the incredible, immersive spaces of the brand-new 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿. To top it all off, Senior Vice President Research Peru Dharani left our team feeling incredibly inspired 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗞 𝗕𝗜𝗚! 💡💥

While event professionals continue to organise and connect, the challenging economic climate is taking its toll.

The April 2026 sector survey by Event Confederation and IVOX reveals some tough realities.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗰 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀:
📉 53% report fewer orders than usual
📊 76% expect the economic climate to worsen
🏭 Companies are operating at just 78% capacity compared to last year

Our sector isn't standing still, but to keep moving forward, we need clarity, simplification, and stronger policy support.

Following recent tragic accidents with bouncy castles, we’re reminding all organisers that 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. As an organiser, you are legally responsible for providing a safe environment.

To keep the fun safe for everyone, ensure these 𝘀𝗶𝘅 𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 for inflatable fun are followed:

1️⃣ Securely anchor the castle
2️⃣ Use impact-absorbing mats
3️⃣ Provide plenty of fall space
4️⃣ Ensure constant adult supervision
5️⃣ Keep air blowers out of reach of children
6️⃣ Deflate during bad weather

Please note: a "𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸" sign does not waive your liability.

Stay safe, stay responsible! 🛡️
