- Chicago, USA, The Wild Mile: Urban Rivers transformed an abandoned industrial canal into a floating urban ecosystem.
- Utrecht, Netherlands, Catharijnesingel: Restoration of a canal that had been covered by a highway fifty years earlier.
- Singapore, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park: A concrete drainage canal running through the park was restored into a natural river teeming with biodiversity.
- Rennes, France, La Vilaine: Daylighted the river in the heart of the city center by removing a concrete parking lot, creating green spaces, and disconnecting a vast area from the sewer network.
- Brussels, Belgium La Woluwe: Daylighted the river in front of the iconic Royale Belge building.

For decades, urban waterways have been hidden and neglected. But cities around the world are beginning to see them differently. Rivers and canals, when given the chance, can become some of the most biodiverse, climate-resilient and socially vibrant spaces in the urban fabric.
This conference brings together international speakers who have led some of the most ambitious urban waterway transformations of the past two decades. They will share how degraded buried waterways were brought back to life!
