EFA European Finance Association

EFA European Finance Association The European Finance Association is the leading finance association in Europe for academics, researchers and practitioners.

The European Finance Association is the leading finance association in Europe. Its annual conference attracts over 1000 of the leading finance researchers from around the world. Out of the 1,793 research papers submitted for presentation, only 200 will be selected by a committee of academics from top universities around the world. This stringent selection process ensures the high quality of the fi

nance research presented at the conference. The conference hosts 70 sessions over two-and-a-half days, includes a Doctoral Tutorial and also serves as the venue for the formal EFA Annual Meeting. The conference also comprises several social events that serve as excellent networking platforms. The Annual Meetings are hosted by a different university each year. It is seen as a great honor for a university to be chosen to host this prestigious conference. EFA’s flagship journal is the Review of Finance, a peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality papers in all areas of financial economics.

Last year there were 148 submissions for the EFA Doctoral Tutorial in Bratislava mainly from Europe and North America, but also some from Asia and Australia. The Doctoral Tutorial has its own reviewer team (separate from the EFA main conference), which lasts year included 34 committed reviewers. Each paper was reviewed (double blindly) by two reviewers and eight papers were selected. All eight authors confirmed their participation in the program. The 2024 Program is avilable to view herehttps://european-finance.org/UserFiles/EFA%20DT%202024_Program%20_.pdf

Eight faculty colleagues (from various institutions in Europe and US) agreed to prepare a detailed discussion for the selected papers at the EFA-DT. We are extremely thankful to an outstanding group of dedicated faculty for helping out with the Doctoral Tutorial each year.

The EFA Doctoral Tutorial Best Paper Prize (€1,500) is awarded to the best paper presented at the EFA Doctoral Tutorial. In 2024, the Best EFA Doctoral Tutorial Paper 2024 was awarded to 'The Flattening Demand Curve' by Alireza Aghaee Shahrbabaki (Università Bocconi)
