Following the chemical incident on board a container ship in the Port of Antwerp, we visited the crew together with Stella Maris. With small gifts and personal conversations, we wanted to show our support and encourage the seafarers after this difficult experience.

This Sunday, Antwerp celebrates two great maritime occasions together:
The Tall Ships Races and Sea Sunday.

St. Paul's Church, the home parish of Stella Maris, together with the Antwerp Port Chaplaincy, warmly invites everyone to a multilingual ecumenical prayer service.

Seafarers, Tall Ships crews, port workers, residents and visitors are all welcome to join us in prayer for those who live and work at sea.

The liturgy will be enriched by music from the well-known St. Paul's duo: organist Bart Rodyns and soprano Sara Van Mol.
Refreshments will be served after the service for everyone.

Afterwards, Tall Ships crews are warmly invited to join a guided tour of our historic church, which is currently undergoing restoration.

On Friday, 29 May, the very first edition of the ASW (Antwerp Seafarers Welfare) Darts Championship took place at IZA. What started as a new initiative quickly turned into an enjoyable, competitive, and highly successful event filled with excitement, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.

Although our usual sports field is currently unavailable due to ongoing construction works, we are certainly not standing still. Knowing how important sports and recreational activities are for our seafarers, Kiran Joy, Head Port Chaplain of Stella Maris, took the initiative to organize a friendly basketball game on May 18th at the sports hall in Luchtbal.
