Zia is 13 years old and lives in the world’s largest Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh. Like many children in the camp, he faces a life of hardship with limited opportunities. Yet, he has found joy and comfort in caring for his myna bird, which often sits on his shoulder as his closest companion. Zia says the bird makes him feel happy and less lonely in the crowded camp. Recently, the myna has begun to speak like people, making him even more proud and joyful. Through this special bond, Zia holds on to hope and dreams of a peaceful future.

In the world’s largest Rohingya refugee camp, we dry meat mostly during Qurban (Eid al-Adha). During this time, many families receive meat, but they cannot eat it all at once. So, we dry the extra meat to save it for later. This is a smart way to stop waste and store food. First, we cut the meat into small pieces. Then, we mix it with turmeric powder. After that, we boil the meat on the stove to make it clean and safe. When it cools, we dry it under the sun for many days. The dried meat can last for a long time. Later, we cook it again and eat it when we need. This method is very useful and also part of our tradition. We used to do the same in Arakan, our homeland. Even in the camp, we keep our culture and food habits alive.

Mujibur Rahman is a 16-year-old boy living in the Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar. Today, he is repairing his shelter. The roof of his house was damaged by heavy rain, and water is leaking inside.

Using only bamboo, rope, and a piece of tarpaulin, Mujibur climbs up and starts fixing the roof by himself. He learned how to do this by watching others in the camp. Now, he takes responsibility for protecting his family.

“I want to go to school and learn,” Mujibur Rahman says, “but today, my family needs me. I have to make sure our home is safe.”

Even though he is young, Mujibur Rahman works hard with strong hands and a kind heart. He is not just building a roof — he is building hope for his family.

Heavy rain has fallen in the Rohingya refugee camp. Water is everywhere, around the houses and on the roads. The ground is wet and muddy. The people try to stay safe and dry inside their small bamboo shelters. The tarpaulin helps protect the walls, but the rain still finds its way in. Children cannot go outside to play. Families worry about the water and their safety. Life becomes harder when the rain does not stop. But even in the middle of the storm, the people stay strong and hopeful. They dream of brighter days and a better future.

In the heart of a refugee camp, these two boys stand side by side — best friends, like brothers. They don’t have much, but they have each other. Every day, they share food, stories, and laughter. They climb hills, dream big, and play with hope in their hearts. Life is not easy here, but their friendship is strong. They protect each other, care for each other, and never feel alone. Behind them is a world full of struggle, but in their eyes is a world full of light. Friendship like this is the brightest thing in even the darkest places.

These hardworking men are carrying ration supplies from the distribution point. They earn money by helping people get the food and other items they need. It's a tough job, but they do it to support their families. They are an important part of making sure everyone gets their share, carrying heavy loads under the sun. Their effort helps many in the community.

In a refugee camp in Bangladesh, Shofika, Mili Jan, and Shohim Fatema are happily engaged in creating art. They are sitting close together on the ground, each focused on their paper with colorful pens in hand. The children's faces show concentration and a touch of joy as they express themselves through drawing. Surrounded by the simple structures of the camp, their artistic activity brings a moment of brightness and normalcy to their lives. Their artwork is a way for them to explore their imagination and perhaps share their stories visually.
