BSAA-এর এক দশক। ভাদেশ্বরের এক দশক।
২৬ মে ২০১৬। দিনটা খুব বড় কোনো দিন ছিল না। ভাদেশ্বরের মানুষের কাছে সেটি ছিল আর দশটা দিনের মতোই একটি বিকেল। বাজারে চায়ের দোকানে আড্ডা চলছিল, কেউ রাজনীতি নিয়ে কথা বলছিল, কেউ জীবিকার চিন্তায় ব্যস্ত। গ্রামের জীবন তার নিজের ছন্দেই এগোচ্ছিল।
কিন্তু সেই বিকেলে, ভাদেশ্বরের খুব ছোট পরিসরে, নীরবে শুরু হচ্ছিল এমন একটি গল্প যার পরিধি তখন সেখানে উপস্থিত কেউই কল্পনা করতে পারেনি।
ঘরের ভেতরে ছিল কয়েকটি প্লাস্টিকের চেয়ার, অল্প সাজসজ্জা, ব্যানার, আর একদল তরুণ। বয়সে তরুণ, অভিজ্ঞতায় সীমিত, কিন্তু ভেতরে জমে থাকা একধরনের অস্থিরতা তাদের আলাদা করছিল। তারা ভাদেশ্বর নাসির উদ্দিন উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ের ২০১২ সালের এসএসসি ব্যাচের কয়েকজন শিক্ষার্থী।
তাদের সামনে সেদিন কোনো বড় মঞ্চ ছিল না। ছিল না বিপুল বাজেট। ছিল না কর্পোরেট পৃষ্ঠপোষকতা। ছিল না ক্ষমতার ছায়া।
কিন্তু ছিল এমন একটি সিদ্ধান্ত, যা ভাদেশ্বরকে বদলে দেবে। সেদিন তারা শুধু একটি সংগঠনের নাম ঘোষণা করতে জড়ো হয়নি। তারা শুরু করেছিল কাজ। অনুষ্ঠানের নাম ছিল প্রতিষ্ঠা অনুষ্ঠান। কিন্তু বাস্তবে সেটি ছিল দায়িত্ব নেওয়ার দিন।
কারণ Bhadeswar Social Advancement Association (BSAA)-এর জন্মের দিনেই তারা আয়োজন করেছিল দরিদ্র ও সুবিধাবঞ্চিত শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য শিক্ষা সহায়তা কার্যক্রম। ভাদেশ্বরের ৫০-এরও বেশি অসচ্ছল শিক্ষার্থীকে শিক্ষা উপকরণ তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছিল, যাতে তারা অন্তত প্রয়োজনীয় খাতা, বই, শিক্ষা সামগ্রী নিয়ে নতুন করে পথচলা শুরু করতে পারে।
সেদিন অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সমাজের সম্মানিত ও বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিবর্গ। তারা এসেছিলেন শুভেচ্ছা জানাতে, দেখতে এই তরুণেরা কী করতে চায়। কেউ উৎসাহ দিয়েছিলেন। কেউ অবাক হয়ে দেখেছিলেন, এই বয়সে ছেলেগুলো এমন ভাবছে কীভাবে।
আবার অন্য একটি বাস্তবতাও ছিল। সবাই বিশ্বাস করেনি। ঘরের বাইরে, আড্ডায়, ফিসফিসে কথায়, ঠোঁটের কোণে মৃদু হাসিতে শোনা গিয়েছিল আরেকটি বাক্য: “এগুলো বেশিদিন থাকে না।” কেউ বলেছিল, “আর দশটা সংগঠনের মতো হবে। শুরু করবে, কিছু অনুষ্ঠান করবে, তারপর হারিয়ে যাবে।”
কেউ হয়তো মনে করেছিল, এটি কয়েকজন তরুণের সাময়িক আবেগ। ছবি তোলা হবে, কিছু টি-শার্ট হবে, ব্যানার হবে, তারপর সময়ের সঙ্গে সব শেষ। সত্যি বলতে, সন্দেহ করার কারণও ছিল। কারণ ভাদেশ্বর তখন অনেক প্রতিশ্রুতি শুনেছে, অনেক উদ্যোগ শুরু হতে দেখেছে, আবার থেমেও যেতে দেখেছে। কিন্তু BSAA-এর গল্প শুরু থেকেই একটু আলাদা ছিল। এর জন্ম হয়েছিল প্রয়োজন থেকে।
প্রতিষ্ঠাকালীন সভাপতি মোহাম্মদ জাকারিয়া, সহযোদ্ধা মোহাম্মদ রুহেল আহমেদ, এবং শুরুর দিনের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মুখ কাওসার আহমেদ মুন্না, সাব্বির আহমেদ, নাহিদুর রহমান, রাহাদুল ইসলাম রাহাদসহ আরও অনেকেই তখন হয়তো বুঝতেই পারেননি, তারা একটি সংগঠন নয়, একটি দীর্ঘ সামাজিক আন্দোলনের ভিত তৈরি করছেন।
তাদের শক্তি ছিল বন্ধুত্ব। তাদের পুঁজি ছিল বিশ্বাস। তাদের পরিচয় ছিল দায়িত্ববোধ। কেউ তখন প্রতিষ্ঠিত ছিলেন না। কেউ বড় পদে ছিলেন না।কিন্তু তারা সবাই ভাদেশ্বরের সন্তান ছিলেন। তারা খুব কাছ থেকে দেখেছিলেন কীভাবে গ্রামের প্রতিভাবান তরুণেরা সুযোগের অভাবে নিজেদের ভেতরেই হারিয়ে যায়। এই অভিজ্ঞতাই তাদের ভাবতে বাধ্য করেছিল: “শুধু সাহায্য নয়, সুযোগ তৈরি করতে হবে।” এবং সেই ভাবনা থেকেই শুরু হয় এমন কিছু উদ্যোগ, যা ভাদেশ্বরে আগে কখনো দেখা যায়নি।
একসময় যেখানে ক্যারিয়ার নিয়ে দিকনির্দেশনা প্রায় অনুপস্থিত ছিল, BSAA প্রথমবার ভাদেশ্বরে নিয়ে আসে Career, Skill & Language Development Workshop। দেশের স্বনামধন্য ব্যক্তিত্ব, বিশেষজ্ঞ ও অভিজ্ঞ মানুষদের এনে ভাদেশ্বরের তরুণদের সামনে এনে বসানো হয়েছিল। এটি ছিল শুধু সেমিনার নয়, দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি বদলে দেওয়ার প্রয়াস।ভাদেশ্বরের একজন শিক্ষার্থী প্রথমবার শুনেছিল, ইংরেজি শেখা শুধু পরীক্ষার জন্য নয়, বিশ্বে নিজের জায়গা তৈরির জন্য। কেউ প্রথমবার CV বানাতে শিখেছিল। কেউ প্রথমবার বুঝেছিল দক্ষতা তৈরি না করলে প্রতিযোগিতায় টিকে থাকা যায় না। আর সবচেয়ে বড় কথা, গ্রামের ছাত্ররাও বড় স্বপ্ন দেখতে পারে।
একইভাবে BSAA প্রথমবার আয়োজন করে Math Olympiad, যা ভাদেশ্বরের শিক্ষাঙ্গনে এক মাইলফলক হয়ে ওঠে। কারণ তখনও অনেকের কাছে গণিত ছিল ভয়। BSAA সেটিকে উৎসবে পরিণত করেছিল। তারা দেখিয়েছিল, গণিত মুখস্থের বিষয় নয়, চিন্তার আনন্দও হতে পারে।
এরপর আসে বিতর্ক প্রতিযোগিতা। যা দ্রুতই ভাদেশ্বরের মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থীদের এক উৎসবে রূপ নেয়। অনেকে একে বলত “Festival of Talent”। কারণ এখানে শুধু বিজয়ী নির্ধারণ হতো না। এখানে তৈরি হতো বক্তা। চিন্তাশীল তরুণ। আত্মবিশ্বাসী মানুষ। এছাড়া Quiz Competition শিক্ষার্থীদের জ্ঞানচর্চায় নতুন আগ্রহ তৈরি করে।
জুলাই-পরবর্তী সময়ে BSAA আয়োজন করে ভাদেশ্বরের প্রথম Art Day, যেখানে বহু প্রতিভাবান শিক্ষার্থী প্রথমবার নিজেদের শিল্পকর্ম মানুষের সামনে তুলে ধরার সুযোগ পায়। যে আঁকা এতদিন খাতার ভাঁজে ছিল, সেটি প্রথমবার প্রকাশ্য আলোয় আসে।
অন্যদিকে BSAA-এর সামাজিক কাজও থেমে থাকেনি। তারা শুরু করে “Goats for Gifts”, একটি অভিনব সামাজিক প্রকল্প। সহায়তার প্রচলিত ধারণার বাইরে গিয়ে শতাধিক অসচ্ছল পরিবারকে ছাগল দেওয়া হয়, যেন তারা তা লালন-পালনের মাধ্যমে নিজের জীবিকা গড়ে তুলতে পারে। এটি ছিল না একদিনের দান। এটি ছিল টেকসই পরিবর্তনের ধারণা।
বিএসএএ থেকে এই দশ বছরে কমপক্ষে ১০০০ শিক্ষার্থী দীর্ঘমেয়াদে আর্থিক সহায়তা পেয়েছে। ১০০০-এর বেশি পরিবার BSAA-এর প্রত্যক্ষ উপকারভোগী হয়েছে।
শীতবস্ত্র বিতরণ, বন্যা ত্রাণ, মেডিকেল ক্যাম্প, রক্তদান, শিক্ষা সহায়তা, বৃত্তি, যুব উন্নয়ন, সচেতনতা কার্যক্রম, পরিচ্ছন্নতা আন্দোলন, অসুস্থ / দরিদ্র মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়ানো সবকিছু মিলিয়ে BSAA নিজেকে কেবল একটি সংগঠন হিসেবে সীমাবদ্ধ রাখেনি। তারা প্রথমবার শুরু করে Clean Bhadeswar Campaign। ইউনিয়নজুড়ে ডাস্টবিন বিতরণ করা হয়। মানুষকে পরিচ্ছন্নতা নিয়ে সচেতন করা হয়।
BSAA গত দশ বছরে যে কাজটি সবচেয়ে সঠিকভাবে করেছে, সেটি হলো নেতৃত্ব সৃষ্টিতে ভুমিকা রেখেছে। আজ সংগঠনে ১৫০-এরও বেশি নিবন্ধিত সদস্য, এবং এই বৃদ্ধির সাথে সাথে একটি সচেতন প্রতিশ্রুতিও বজায় রাখা হয়েছে: প্রতিটি প্রজন্মের তরুণরা নেতৃত্ব দেওয়ার সুযোগ পাবে।
BSAA একটি সত্যিকারের প্ল্যাটফর্ম হয়ে উঠেছে, যেখানে ভাদেশ্বরের তরুণেরা এগিয়ে আসতে পারে, দায়িত্ব নিতে পারে, দক্ষতা তৈরি করতে পারে, এবং অর্থবহভাবে অবদান রাখতে পারে। পদ কখনো আঁকড়ে ধরা হয়নি। সামনে এগিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। আর সেই কারণেই দশ বছর পরেও BSAA জীবন্ত, কারণ এটি সবসময় নতুন হাতে গড়া হচ্ছে।
২০২৫ সালে বিএসএএ আয়োজন করে ভাদেশ্বরের ইতিহাসের প্রথম Half Marathon, যেটি ছিলো সর্বজন গৃহীত ও উদযাপিত। কিন্তু সত্যি বলতে, BSAA-এর দৌড় শুরু হয়েছিল আরও অনেক আগে। সেদিন। ২৬ মে ২০১৬-তে। যেদিন কয়েকজন তরুণ/তরুণী একসাথে দাঁড়িয়ে, ৫০ জন দরিদ্র শিক্ষার্থীর হাতে শিক্ষা উপকরণ তুলে দিয়ে, হয়তো না জেনেই একটি ইতিহাস লেখা শুরু করেছিল।
যারা বলেছিলেন "থাকবে না" তারা ভুল ছিলেন না। অনেক সংগঠনই থাকে না। কিন্তু BSAA থেকেছে। কোনো একক নেতার কারণে নয়, কোনো বড় অর্থায়নের কারণে নয়। থেকেছে কারণ একটি মানুষের দল বারবার এগিয়ে আসতে বেছে নিয়েছে।
আমাদের ১৫০-এরও বেশি সদস্য, অতীত ও বর্তমান , আপনারাই BSAA। প্রতিটি অনুষ্ঠান, প্রতিটি ঘণ্টা, প্রতিটি রাতের পরিকল্পনা, প্রতিটি মুহূর্ত যখন আপনারা না বলা সত্ত্বেও এগিয়ে এসেছেন, সেটাই এই সংগঠনকে গড়েছে। আপনাদের প্রত্যেকের প্রতি আন্তরিক কৃতজ্ঞতা।
আমাদের উপদেষ্টাবৃন্দ, আপনাদের দিকনির্দেশনা আমাদের সবসময় স্থির রেখেছে। উৎসাহ যখন ভুল পথে টানছিল, আপনাদের সৎ কথাগুলো আমাদের ঠিক রেখেছে। আপনাদের প্রতি গভীর কৃতজ্ঞতা।
ভাদেশ্বরের মানুষ, আপনারা আমাদের বিশ্বাস করেছেন। দরজা খুলেছেন। সন্তানদের আমাদের কার্যক্রমে পাঠিয়েছেন। ব্যর্থ হলে আবার চেষ্টা করার সুযোগ দিয়েছেন। এই বিশ্বাসের মূল্য আমরা জানি।
যারা অনুদান দিয়েছেন, স্বেচ্ছাসেবী হিসেবে কাজ করেছেন, আমাদের কাজ ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন, কিংবা সঠিক মুহূর্তে একটি ভালো কথা বলেছেন, আপনাদের সবাইকে ধন্যবাদ। আপনারাই এই গল্পের প্রধান অংশ।
আবার বলি,
কিছু স্বপ্ন হারিয়ে যায় না।
কিছু স্বপ্ন প্রতিষ্ঠান হয়ে ওঠে।
আজ BSAA দশ বছরে পা দিল। এবং আমাদের পথচলা সবে শুরু।

A decade of BSAA. A decade of Bhadeswar.
May 26, 2016. It was not a particularly remarkable day. For the people of Bhadeswar, it passed like any other afternoon. Conversations continued in tea stalls in the market, some discussed politics, others were absorbed in thoughts about earning a living. Village life moved at its usual pace.
But that afternoon, in a small corner of Bhadeswar, something quietly began that no one present could fully imagine the scale of.
Inside a room there were a few plastic chairs, simple decorations, a banner, and a group of young people. Young in age, limited in experience, but carrying a restlessness that set them apart. They were students from the 2012 SSC batch of Bhadeswar Nasir Uddin High School.
There was no large stage that day. No big budget. No corporate backing. No shadow of power.
Yet there was a decision that would later shape Bhadeswar in unexpected ways. They had not gathered only to announce an organization. They were starting work. The event was called a founding ceremony, but in reality it was a day of taking responsibility.
On that very day, Bhadeswar Social Advancement Association (BSAA) began its journey by organizing an educational support program for underprivileged students. More than 50 economically struggling students in Bhadeswar received educational materials, helping them take their first steps into a new academic year with basic supplies.
Several respected and prominent members of society attended the event. They came to offer support and to see what these young people intended to do. Some encouraged them. Others watched with surprise, wondering how people at this age were thinking in such a way.
There was also another reality. Not everyone believed in it. Outside the room, in conversations and whispers, a faint smile carried a familiar sentence: “These things don’t last long.” Some said, “It will become like many other organizations. It will start, do a few events, then disappear.”
There was a belief that this was just temporary enthusiasm from a group of young people. Photos would be taken, T-shirts printed, banners made, and eventually it would fade with time. To be fair, there were reasons for skepticism. Bhadeswar had seen many promises before, many initiatives start and then stop.
But the story of BSAA was slightly different from the beginning. It was born out of necessity.
The founding president, Mohammad Zakaria, along with his companions Mohammad Ruhel Ahmed, and early contributors such as Kawsar Ahmed Munna, Sabbir Ahmed, Nahidur Rahman, Rahadul Islam Rahad, and many others, may not have fully realized that they were laying the foundation not just of an organization, but of a long-term social effort.
Their strength was friendship. Their capital was trust. Their identity was responsibility. None of them were established figures. None held major positions. Yet they were all sons of Bhadeswar. They had seen closely how talented rural students often lost opportunities simply due to lack of access. That experience led them to a shared idea: “Not only support, but create opportunities.”
From that thought came initiatives that had not been seen in Bhadeswar before.
At a time when career guidance was nearly absent, BSAA introduced the first Career, Skill & Language Development Workshop in Bhadeswar. Well-known professionals and experts were brought in to speak directly with students. It was not just a seminar; it was an attempt to shift perspective.
A student from Bhadeswar heard for the first time that English was not only for exams but for building a place in the wider world. Someone learned how to prepare a CV for the first time. Someone realized that without skills, competing in the real world would be difficult. Most importantly, students from a rural area began to see that bigger ambitions were possible.
In the same way, BSAA organized the first Math Olympiad in Bhadeswar, which became a milestone in local education. For many, mathematics had always been something to fear. BSAA turned it into something engaging, showing that math can also be enjoyable thinking, not just memorization.
Then came debate competitions, which quickly became a gathering point for talented students. Many described it as a “festival of talent.” It was not only about winners. It was about developing speakers, thoughtful young people, and confidence.
Quiz competitions also encouraged students to engage more deeply with learning.
After the July period, BSAA organized the first Art Day in Bhadeswar, giving students a platform to present their artwork publicly for the first time. What had remained inside notebooks was finally seen in public space.
Alongside these activities, social work continued steadily. BSAA launched “Goats for Gifts,” an unusual initiative that moved beyond traditional aid. Instead of one-time charity, goats were distributed to over a hundred underprivileged families so they could build a source of income through rearing them. It was designed as a path toward longer-term stability rather than temporary relief.
Over the decade, at least 1,000 students received long-term financial assistance through BSAA. More than 1,000 families became direct beneficiaries in different ways.
Winter clothing distribution, flood relief, medical camps, blood donation, educational support, scholarships, youth development programs, awareness campaigns, cleanliness drives, and assistance to sick or struggling individuals all became part of its regular work. BSAA also initiated the Clean Bhadeswar Campaign, distributing dustbins across the union and raising awareness about cleanliness.
One of BSAA’s most consistent contributions has been in leadership development. Today the organization has more than 150 registered members, with a continued commitment that each generation of young people should have space to lead.
BSAA has become a platform where young people from Bhadeswar can step forward, take responsibility, build skills, and contribute meaningfully. Positions were never treated as possessions. They were passed forward. That is one reason the organization remains active after ten years: it is continuously rebuilt by new hands.
In 2025, BSAA organized the first Half Marathon in Bhadeswar’s history, widely welcomed and celebrated. But in a sense, BSAA’s real run began long before that day, back on May 26, 2016, when a small group of young people stood together and handed educational materials to 50 students, unknowingly starting something that would continue for a decade.
Those who said “it will not last” were not entirely wrong. Many organizations do not last. But BSAA did. Not because of one leader or major funding, but because people kept choosing to step forward again and again.
To our 150+ members, past and present, you are BSAA. Every event, every hour, every night of planning, every moment of silent effort when you still showed up, built this organization. Deep gratitude to each of you.
To our advisors, your guidance kept us steady. When enthusiasm risked going off track, your honest words brought us back.
To the people of Bhadeswar, you placed your trust in us. You opened doors. You sent your children to our programs. You allowed us to try again when we failed. We understand the value of that trust.
To those who contributed financially, volunteered, shared our work, or simply offered timely encouragement, thank you. You are a central part of this story.
Once again,
Some dreams do not disappear.
Some dreams become institutions.
Today, BSAA enters its tenth year. And the journey is still at its beginning.
