FIVDB has successfully completed the project “Climate Resilient Infrastructure for Sustainable Community Life in the Haor Region of Bangladesh” in Derai Upazilla of Sunamganj District. Under the project
1. In some areas, revetment walls made of concrete blocks was built, and depending on the location, a slope of 1:1 or 1.5:1 was used for the toe walls and flood walls.
2. In other areas, gravity walls with heights of 1.5 meters and 3 meters was built.
3. Earth filling in front of the Jarulia Primary School was done to create a community space.
4. Tree plantations were carried out alongside the protection walls.

To create a safe & inclusive society for children, girls, and women, Friends In Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB), with Plan International Bangladesh under the Australian Humanitarian Partnership project, organized a workshop in Cox’s Bazar with Teachers, Journalists, Lawyers, Religious Leaders and Govt. Officials.

Through group discussions & activities, participants committed to breaking gender barriers and fostering equal rights & opportunities. An action plan was developed to advocate for policy reforms and drive real change.

Md. Samsuddouja , Additional Refugee Relief & Repatriation Commissioner, Md. Abdul Aouwal – Assistant Director, District Social Service Office and Plan International officials were present in the event.

Together, we drive change.

In the Rohingya Refugee camps, adolescent girls face numerous challenges to accessing education. So, our effort is to bring learning opportunities to them. This , girls wish to rise beyond every obstacle and keep learning!
