Friends In Village Development Bangladesh - FIVDB successfully commenced a five-day Project Staff Orientation on 4 October 2026 at Hotel Lake Castle, Gulshan-2, Dhaka, bringing together Project staff from , , and .

The sessions focused on the project structure and staffing arrangements, of the UNICEF Bangladesh, Concern Worldwide Bangladesh, and Friends In Village Development Bangladesh - FIVDB partnership and coordination framework, an overview of the MNCH programme, the phased implementation approach, and district priorities for the first quarter (Q1).

The project focuses on strengthening Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) services through collaboration with relevant government health and family planning authorities, with particular emphasis on improving access to quality services and strengthening community- and facility-level systems in the targeted districts.

সিলেটে কর্মপ্রত্যাশী তরুণদের নিয়ে FIVDB-RAISE প্রকল্পের কমিউনিটি আউটরিচ সভা অনুষ্ঠিত।

সম্প্রতি, বেকার ও কর্মপ্রত্যাশী তরুণ-তরুণীদের দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন, কর্মসংস্থান এবং আত্মনির্ভরশীল জীবিকা অর্জনের সুযোগ সম্পর্কে অবহিত করতে পল্লী কর্ম-সহায়ক ফাউন্ডেশন (পিকেএসএফ)-এর অর্থায়নে এবং ফ্রেন্ডস ইন ভিলেজ ডেভেলপমেন্ট বাংলাদেশ (এফআইভিডিবি)-এর উদ্যোগে Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment (RAISE) প্রকল্পের কমিউনিটি আউটরিচ সভা সিলেটের খাদিমপাড়াস্থ সেন্ট্রাল ট্রেনিং সেন্টার (CTC)- তে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। এ সভায় আগ্রহী বিভিন্ন বেকার ও কর্মপ্রত্যাশী তরুণ-তরুণীরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

দেশের অনানুষ্ঠানিক খাতে কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ বৃদ্ধি, তরুণদের আয় ও দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন এবং ক্ষুদ্র উদ্যোক্তাদের সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে RAISE প্রকল্পটি পল্লী কর্ম-সহায়ক ফাউন্ডেশন (পিকেএসএফ) ও বিশ্বব্যাংকের যৌথ অর্থায়নে বাস্তবায়িত হচ্ছে।

আলোচনায় বক্তারা বলেন, তরুণদের হাতে-কলমে দক্ষতা অর্জনের সুযোগের সঙ্গে কর্মসংস্থান ও উদ্যোক্তা উন্নয়নের সহায়তা যুক্ত করা গেলে তারা শুধু নিজেদের জীবিকা নিশ্চিত করতেই সক্ষম হবেন না, বরং স্থানীয় অর্থনীতিতেও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবদান রাখতে পারবেন। এ লক্ষ্যেই RAISE প্রকল্প দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন, কর্মসংস্থান, উদ্যোক্তা উন্নয়ন ও অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক অর্থনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ডের সুযোগ সম্প্রসারণে কাজ করছে।

Recently, a three days long staff orientation with field visit organized by Friends In Village Development Bangladesh - FIVDB under the project “Strengthening Adaptive and Inclusive Food Systems for Improved Nutrition and Climate Resilience in South Asia” (BGD-1066-25) Nutrition Smart Community project in Netrakona and Mymensingh, Bangladesh.

The workshop brought together representatives from WHH Bangladesh & India, FIVDB and WAVE Foundation. The overall purpose of the workshop was to strengthen a common understanding of food systems transformation, food security & nutrition and climate resilience while also promoting learning, collaboration and joint planning among project partners.

The field visit focused on to understand the current landscape and community context of the haor areas. Discuss on their roles, responsibilities, rules, and expectations of Learning Hub Management Committees and progress and future plans of SHGs, including social and income-generating activities. Identifying opportunities for strengthening inclusive and adaptive food systems and community resilience and participation of local governance.

The workshop created an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences, identify practical learning and develop priority actions for the upcoming quarters. It also strengthened coordination and collaboration among the participating organizations.

Friends In Village Development Bangladesh - FIVDB distributed six waste collection vans among Wards 14, 23 and 24 of Sylhet City Corporation under the Young People Building Urban Resilience in Bangladesh (YPBU) project. The initiative aims to strengthen waste management services, reduce environmental pollution, prevent waste accumulation in drains and canals, and help minimize waterlogging risks.

Supported by United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) and implemented in partnership with সিলেট সিটি কর্পোরেশন - Sylhet City Corporation, the newly distributed vans will contribute to cleaner neighborhoods, improved sanitation and a more resilient urban environment for the people of Sylhet.
