Sylhet Govt Pilot High School Debating Club's Statement of Solidarity with Palestine

We, the members of Sylhet Govt Pilot High School Debating Club, express our deep solidarity with the people of Palestine during this heartbreaking time. We strongly denounce the violence, the loss of innocent lives, and the destruction of vital places like homes, schools, and hospitals in Gaza.

As young individuals who believe in justice and peace, we are saddened to see children like us suffering in fear, without safety or freedom. Every child deserves to live in peace, go to school, and grow up without war or destruction.

We encourage students across the world to raise their voices, spread awareness, and stand up for the rights of the Palestinian people. This is not just a political matter—it is a human issue that calls for compassion and action.

Together, let’s be the voice of peace and justice.
Stop the violence. Stand with Palestine.

"SGPHSDC Sher-e-Bangla" consisting of Dibyaraj Das, Ishan Saha, Md. Riyadujjaman Nihal became the 'School Champion' in the '2nd LUDC Divisional Debate Fest 2024'. Nihal became the 'Debater of the Final' in the School Final.
Also, Jaithro Joyom Das from " SGPHSDC Vashani" became the 'Debater of the Tournament' in the School Segment.
Congratulations to all of them.

After the establishment of SGPHSDC in 2018, SGPHSDC has been showing it's class as an organizer and as a club itself. And to continue the legacy, We are introducing our 6th executive committee. We hope that they can keep lighting the torch brighter.

সিলেট ডিবেট ফেডারেশনের সাবেক সভাপতি রেদওয়ান আহমদ চলমান বৈষম্য বিরোধী আন্দোলনে সরকারি আইন-শৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী ও ছাত্রলীগ দ্বারা সংঘটিত গণহত্যায় প্রত্যক্ষ সমর্থন করা প্রসঙ্গে;

SGPHSDC ভিন্ন মতকে বরাবরই শ্রদ্ধা করে আসলেও গণহত্যা সমর্থনকে ভিন্ন মত নয় বরং অপরাধ হিসেবে বিবেচনা করে।

বিগত ৫ ই আগস্ট সিলেট মহানগর ও জেলা ছাত্রলীগ নগরীর কোর্ট পয়েন্টে আন্দোলনরত সাধারন নিরস্ত্র শিক্ষার্থীদের উপর নির্মম ভাবে হামলা চালায়। নেক্কারজনক এই হামলার আগের দিন রেদওয়ান আহমদ আন্দোলনকারীদের জামাত-শিবির আখ্যা দিয়ে ডিফেইম করেন যা ছাত্রদের হত্যা করার ভিত্তি তৈরি করে দেয়।

পরবর্তীতে, তিনি হামলা চলাকালীন সময়ে নিরস্ত্র ছাত্রদের উদ্দেশ্যে পুলিশের গুলি ছোড়া কে তাদের ‘'কাজ” বলে উল্লেখ করে নৈতিক বৈধতা দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করেন।

রেদওয়ান আহমদের এমন উগ্র অবস্থান বিতার্কিকদের জন্য অনিরাপদ বলে আমরা মনে করি।

তাই, আমরা সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছি, গণহত্যা সমর্থনকারী এবং উষ্কানিদাতা রেদওয়ান আহমদকে ব্যক্তি হিসেবে অবাঞ্ছিত

ঘোষনা করছি।

একইসাথে, কোনো টুর্নামেন্ট এর সাথে রেদওয়ান আহমদ যুক্ত থাকলে (এজ কোর, অর্গানাইজার, স্পন্সর) সে টুর্নামেন্ট এবং আয়োজকদেরও

সবশেষে, সাবেক সভাপতি এবং প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য রেদওয়ান আহমদকে যদি এসডিএফ আগামী ২৪ ঘন্টার মধ্যে রেদওয়ান আহমদের সাথে সম্পর্ক ছিন্ন না করে তাহলে এসডিএফকেও বয়কট করা হবে

Sylhet Govt. Pilot High School Debating Club - SGPHSDC has celebrated it's 5th-year anniversary. SGPHSDC started it's journey on 3rd August 2018. In these 5 years, SGPHSDC has achieved a lot of things. In this programme we also announced the new Executive Committee for 2023-24 session. Now it is up for the new generation to continue the legacy.
