All goodness comes from Allah, and it is by His mercy that we are given the chance to serve others. Alhamdulillah, we successfully organized an Eid Bazar for Muslim tea workers, aiming to bring ease, dignity, and joy to their Eid preparations.

This meaningful initiative was led by Sunshine Foundation, in collaboration with The Helping Organization Of Sreemangal.

We are truly grateful to the Helping Organization of Sreemangal for their support and dedicated volunteers who stood beside us throughout this project. Your cooperation, effort, and commitment played a vital role in making this initiative successful.

May Allah accept this effort from all of us, put barakah in it, and grant us more opportunities to serve humanity with sincerity. 🤍

Young innovators from the Haor region came together to showcase bold and practical ideas for climate resilience at the final round of the Haor Hackathon: Innovations in Climate Action, held on 11 March 2026 at the Grand Sylhet Hotel and Resort, Sylhet. 🌿💡

Organised by the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University, in collaboration with Ashar Alo, GREEN PATH, YOUCAN, Sunshine Foundation, Eco-Network Global and Brighters, the hackathon was implemented under the Nature Based Adaptation towards Prosperous and Adept Lives & Livelihoods in Bangladesh (NABAPALLAB) project, funded by the UK Government and implemented by a consortium led by CARE Bangladesh.

Youth from Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, and Sunamganj presented innovative solutions addressing flooding, erratic rainfall, waterlogging, and livelihood challenges in the Haor ecosystem. From 30 shortlisted ideas, 12 teams advanced to the final round and pitched their solutions before an expert panel of judges.

The event was graced by Dr. Ainun Nishat, Professor Emeritus and Advisor, C3ER, BRAC University, as the Chief Guest. The programme also featured distinguished guests including Ms. Roufa Khanum, Deputy Director, C3ER, BRAC University; Mr. Mrityunjoy Das, Deputy Chief of Party, NABAPALLAB and Deputy Director, Humanitarian and Resilient Futures Program at CARE Bangladesh; and Mr. Istiak Ibne Rouf, Senior Research Associate, C3ER, BRAC University. The event was moderated by Ms. Sharmin Nahar Nipa, Assistant Director, C3ER, BRAC University.

Each winning team received BDT 25,000 in recognition of their innovative and impactful ideas.

C3ER, BRAC University as the lead organizer, in partnership with Sunshine Foundation and other collaborators including Young Climate Action Network (YOUCAN), Ashar Alo Youth Welfare Association, Brighters, Eco-Network Global, and GreenPath, successfully hosted the Haor Hackathon 2026 – District Event.

The event brought together young innovators from across the Haor region to showcase creative and climate-resilient solutions for challenges such as weather and climate information services, sustainable agriculture and fisheries, renewable energy, WASH services, resilient infrastructure, and waste management.

This initiative offered a platform for youth to transform local knowledge and community needs into practical solutions that strengthen resilience and promote sustainable development in the Haor region.

Organized under the NABAPALLAB Project, supported by the UK Government and implemented by a CARE International-led consortium.
