MONISHA is the Bengali language which means ‘thought’, in English is a people-oriented social advancement organization that was founded in 1997 with an objective to serve the poor and marginalized particularly the disadvantaged, abused, and victimized women and children. On 27 February 199
7, MONISHA started its activities through active participation and sacrifice of some socially conscious persons of Sitakunda Upazilla through their own funding. From the beginning of its development intervention, MONISHA started its activities only with the women and children but over the period MONISHA now prolonged its working area with other vulnerable groups of communities. MONISHA aims to equip and improved the Socio-Economic status of the poor and disadvantaged people with the gear needed to deal with their social, environmental, health, economic and cultural issues so that they can live in a society with dignity and honor. MONISHA exists to participate with the poor and vulnerable population with all committed to bringing about their own and society’s sustainable development. Vision
