From the desk of Chief Executive
The year 1997, I and some of my committed friends whose are dedicated to working with poor & marginalized people in the society and had a dream to ensure sustainable development for the grassroots people to ensure equal rights and participation of all irrespective of race, caste, and religion. To fulfill the dream MONISHA did all sorts of social activities individually or jointly GO & NGO from the beginning. MONISHA believes and has proved to working with the marginalized people rather than working for the people towards sustainable development.
Development of the individual abilities of poor and marginalized people is the key to their economical empowerment. This process of economical empowerment requires first awakening to basic good health conditions, education, and human rights. To fulfill these all MONISHA continuing her activates and pressure local governments to make and maintain. Now a day, MONISHA has proven their necessity in the society with her effortless dedication to helping the grass root people to change their lives and to strengthen their rights with negotiation local government and other institutions.
MONISHA is greatly indebted to our networking organizations & members, volunteers, and community people for their cordial cooperation. Also grateful to the General Body, Executive Committee, and MONISHA staff for their contribution to go forward to achieving MONISHA’s mission & vision.
This report gives the reader a basic overview of MONISHA and introduces its programs and project intervention.

MONISHA
Background:
MONISHA is the Bengali language which means ‘thought’, in English is a people-oriented social advancement organization which was founded in 1997 with an objective to serve the poor and marginalized particularly the disadvantaged, abused, and victimized women and child. From 27 February 1997, MONISHA started its activities through active participation and sacrifice of some socially conscious persons of Sitakunda Upazila through their own funding. From the beginning of its development intervention, MONISHA started its activities only with the women and child but over the period MONISHA now prolonged its working area with another vulnerable group of communities.

Mission
MONISHA aims to equip and improved the socio-Economic status of the poor and disadvantaged people with the gears needed to deal with their social, environmental, health, economic and cultural issues so that they can live in the society with dignity and honor.
MONISHA exists to participate with the poor and vulnerable population with all committed to bring about their own and society’s sustainable development.
