The Cyber Crime Awareness and Networking Society (CAN Society) is a youth-led organization in Bangladesh that is passionate about making the internet a safer place for everyone. We are motivated by the belief that everyone deserves to be able to use the internet safely and without fear of cybercrime. The CAN Society was founded in 2020 by a group of young people who were concerned about the growin
g threat of cyber crime in Bangladesh. The organization's mission is to "make each person aware of cyber security & teach digital literacy." CAN Society works in 3 sectors: awareness programs, solving the problems of victims with consultation (SDG goal 16: stop violence, abuse, exploitation, trafficking and promote the rule of law) and skill development (SDG 4: quality education for acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development). The CAN Society carries out its mission through a variety of activities, including:
educational workshops, trainnings and seminars on cyber security topics
and distributing educational materials on cyber security
free cyber security consultations to individuals and organizations
research on cyber crime trends and threats
for stronger cyber security policies and regulations
The CAN Society has played an important role in raising awareness of cyber crime in Bangladesh and helping people to protect themselves from cyber attacks. The organization has also worked to develop the skills and knowledge of young people in Bangladesh in the field of cyber security.
