Safeguarding Awareness Week 2026

On the occasion of Safeguarding Awareness Week, a meaningful awareness program was organized under the Munshiganj DURBAR Project with active participation of Youth Girls.

As part of the program, ✍️ Wall Writing and 🗺️ Mapping Activities were conducted. The participants identified safe and unsafe areas within their communities through mapping and presented their findings in groups.
This initiative enhanced their awareness on safety issues and strengthened their confidence to express their views 💪

With the support of Plan International Bangladesh , Prerona NGO is implementing Project Durbar to foster community resilience and youth engagement.
As part of our ongoing initiatives, the project team successfully conducted a series of important selection activities, including:

These activities mark a significant step toward building local capacity, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and empowering young leaders to drive positive change within their communities.

World Water Day 2026 Observed in Munshigonj, Shyamnagar

In observance of World Water Day 2026, Prerona NGO, with the support of Plan International Bangladesh, organized a vibrant youth-led program under the DURBAR: Girls-led Climate Solutions Project at Sundarban Secondary Girls’ School, Satkhira.Aligned with the global theme “Where Water Flows, Equality Grows,” the event brought together over 110 participants predominantly women and girls creating an inclusive platform for awareness, innovation, and collective action on safe water access and climate resilience.

The day was marked by a series of engaging and impactful activities, including the demonstration of simple, cost-effective water solutions such as Rainwater Harvesting Systems and Pond Sand Filters, a symbolic kolshi rally led by girls highlighting everyday water challenges, and interactive discussions on climate-induced water scarcity and salinity. Participants actively shared their experiences, explored local solutions, and contributed to meaningful dialogue.The initiative reaffirmed the vital role of girls and women as agents of change driving sustainable solutions and advocating for equitable access to safe water.

Advocacy Workshop at District Level for Women Rights in Agriculture

On 30 March 2026, Prerona NGO, with the technical support of Center for Natural Resource Studies- CNRS , successfully organized a district-level advocacy workshop at CSS Ava Center, Khulna to promote women’s rights in agriculture and their inclusion in market systems.The event was graced by Mr. Nurul Hai Mohammad Anas as Chief Guest. Welcome remarks were delivered by Ms. Shampa Goswami, and the keynote was presented by Dr. M. Mokhlesur Rahman. Special guests included Mr. Badruzzaman, Mr. Shafiqul Islam, Mr. S.M. Badiuzzaman, and Mr. Ashraful Islam Noor.

The workshop brought together government officials, civil society representatives, and community stakeholders, fostering meaningful dialogue on key issues. Discussions emphasized women’s access to markets, fair pricing, and the importance of their economic empowerment for sustainable development. Participants shared valuable field-level insights and called for effective actions to strengthen women’s role in agriculture.

Safe Water for 200+ School Girls through Community-Led Rainwater Harvesting

Prerona NGO , as an implementing partner of Plan International Bangladesh , has conducted a consultation meeting at Sundarban Secondary Girls High School, Munshiganj Union under the Climate-Resilient Integrated Safe Water Supply System with Rainwater Harvesting, as part of the second pond intervention initiative.The meeting engaged the School Management Committee, teachers, parents, and community members to ensure their consent and active participation in the upcoming Rainwater Harvesting system.

This community-driven initiative will help ensure safe drinking water access for 200+ adolescent girls and 300+ households, promoting health, resilience, and sustainability.

বিশ্ব পানি দিবসে প্রেরণা নিরাপদ, টেকসই ও জলবায়ু সহনশীল পানি ব্যবস্থার প্রতি তাদের অঙ্গীকার পুনর্ব্যক্ত করছে। বিশুদ্ধ পানি শুধু একটি প্রয়োজন নয়, এটি একটি মৌলিক অধিকার। প্রেরণা বিভিন্ন উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে কমিউনিটির সাথে কাজ করে নিরাপদ পানি সরবরাহ, বৃষ্টির পানি সংরক্ষণ ও টেকসই অবকাঠামো গড়ে তুলতে কাজ করছে।

এ অনুষ্ঠানে প্রেরণার পক্ষ থেকে দুর্বার প্রজেক্টের SRHR অফিসার ভারতী মন্ডল অংশগ্রহণ করে প্রেরণার কার্যক্রম তুলে ধরেন এবং নিজের অভিজ্ঞতা শেয়ার করেন।

Empowering Women Entrepreneurs through Sanitary Napkin Pad Production

Prerona NGO is implementing the Community-Led Climate Resilient and Sustainable Livelihood Program in Coastal Areas of Satkhira District (BGD-1057), supported by Welthungerhilfe , with a strong focus on developing local women entrepreneurs. Through this initiative, women receive inputs and technical training to produce and market NARI sanitary napkins, improving their skills, income, and dignity.Local women entrepreneurs are now actively engaged in production and marketing, while the project team continues to provide regular household-level coaching, mentorship. This integrated approach is fostering sustainable livelihoods, economic empowerment, and resilience among coastal women.

Advocacy for Women’s Rights in Agriculture

An advocacy session under the B4RL Project, supported by Center for Natural Resource Studies- CNRS , was held at Kamarkhola Union, Dacope, Khulna to promote women’s rights and participation in agriculture.

Government representatives, market stakeholders, and farmers joined the session, focusing on women’s empowerment and market linkages.
Together, we move towards inclusive and resilient livelihoods.
