সাদুল্লাপুরে ‘সমতায় তারুণ্য’ প্রকল্পের অ্যাডভোকেসি ডায়ালগ অনুষ্ঠিত:
গাইবান্ধার সাদুল্লাপুরে সমাজে প্রচলিত নেতিবাচক জেন্ডারভিত্তিক ধারণা মোকাবিলা, বাল্যবিবাহ প্রতিরোধ এবং নারী-পুরুষের সমতা প্রতিষ্ঠার লক্ষ্যে'সমতায় তারুণ্য:ইয়ুথ ফর ইক্যুয়ালিটি’প্রকল্পের আওতায় অ্যাডভোকেসি ডায়ালগ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।
বুধবার ১৪/অক্টোবর সকালে সাদুল্লাপুরের রসুলপুরে স্মার্ট কনফারেন্স হল রুমে,জাগো ফাউন্ডেশন ট্রাস্ট ও প্ল্যান ইন্টারন্যাশনাল বাংলাদেশের যৌথ বাস্তবায়নে,ঢাকাস্থ নেদারল্যান্ডস দূতাবাসের আর্থিক সহযোগিতায় এবং ছান্দিয়াপুর বিজ্ঞান ও যুব ক্রীড়া ক্লাবের আয়োজনে এ সংলাপ অনুষ্ঠানটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
অনুষ্ঠানে ছান্দিয়াপুর বিজ্ঞান ও যুব ক্রীড়া ক্লাবের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা বেলাল হোসেনের সভাপতিত্বে,ক্লাবটির সভাপতি মানিক মিয়ার সঞ্চালনায় প্রধান অতিথির
বক্তব্য রাখেন সাদুল্লাপুর উপজেলা যুব উন্নয়ন কর্মকর্তা আব্দুল ওয়াহাব, মাই টিভি ও দৈনিক ইনকিলাবের উপজেলা প্রতিনিধি মুহাম্মদ শাহীন মিয়া,বিজয় টিভির উপজেলা প্রতিনিধি ফিরোজ কবিরসহ অন্যান্যরা। অনুষ্ঠানে আরোও উপস্থিত ছিলেন জনপ্রতিনিধি, শিক্ষক, ধর্মীয় প্রতিনিধি, সমাজকর্মী, নারী প্রতিনিধি, শিক্ষার্থী, স্থানীয় গণ্যমান্য ব্যক্তি, বিভিন্ন সামাজিক ও স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংগঠনের প্রতিনিধি এবং প্রকল্পের যুব স্বেচ্ছাসেবকরা।
আলোচনায় সমাজে প্রচলিত নেতিবাচক জেন্ডারভিত্তিক ধারণা ও বৈষম্যমূলক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি পরিবর্তন, বাল্যবিবাহ প্রতিরোধ এবং নারী-পুরুষের সমান অধিকার ও মর্যাদা প্রতিষ্ঠার বিভিন্ন দিক তুলে ধরা হয়। একই সঙ্গে এসব সামাজিক সমস্যা মোকাবিলায় তরুণদের ভূমিকা, স্থানীয় পর্যায়ে জনসচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি এবং সম্মিলিত উদ্যোগের প্রয়োজনীয়তা নিয়ে আলোচনা করা হয়।
বক্তারা বলেন, নারী-পুরুষের সমতা প্রতিষ্ঠা এবং বাল্যবিবাহ প্রতিরোধে পরিবার, শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান, জনপ্রতিনিধি, সামাজিক সংগঠন ও স্থানীয় নেতৃত্বকে সমন্বিতভাবে কাজ করতে হবে। সমাজে বিদ্যমান বৈষম্যমূলক মনোভাব পরিবর্তন এবং নারী ও কিশোরীদের অধিকার সুরক্ষায় তরুণদের সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
তারা আরও বলেন,একটি সমতাভিত্তিক ও বৈষম্যহীন সমাজ গড়ে তুলতে তরুণদের সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি, ইতিবাচক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গির বিকাশ এবং সামাজিক কর্মকাণ্ডে অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ সৃষ্টি করতে হবে। পাশাপাশি বাল্যবিবাহের ক্ষতিকর প্রভাব সম্পর্কে পরিবার ও সমাজের সব শ্রেণি-পেশার মানুষের মধ্যে সচেতনতা বাড়ানো প্রয়োজন বলে তেনারা মনে করেন।
অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহণকারীরা নিজ নিজ অবস্থান থেকে জেন্ডারভিত্তিক বৈষম্য নিরসন,বাল্যবিবাহ প্রতিরোধ এবং নারী-পুরুষের সমতা প্রতিষ্ঠায় ভূমিকা রাখার ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন।
উল্লেখ্য,সমতায় তারুণ্য, ইয়ুথ ফর ইক্যুয়ালিটি প্রকল্পের লক্ষ্য হলো তরুণদের সম্পৃক্ততার মাধ্যমে জেন্ডার সমতা বিষয়ে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি এবং সমাজে ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তনের পথ সুগম করা।
Advocacy Dialogue for the ‘Youth for Equality’ Project Held in Sadullapur:
An advocacy dialogue under the ‘Youth for Equality’ (Somotay Tarunyo) project was held in Sadullapur, Gaibandha, with the aim of addressing prevailing negative gender-based notions, preventing child marriage, and establishing gender equality.
The event took place on the morning of Wednesday, October 14, at the Smart Conference Hall in Rasulpur, Sadullapur. It was organized by the Sandiapur Biggan O Jubo Khiya Club, jointly implemented by Jago Foundation Trust and Plan International Bangladesh, and financially supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dhaka.
Presided over by Belal Hossain, founder of the Sandiapur Biggan O Jubo Khiya Club, and moderated by the club's president, Manik Mia, the event featured speeches by Chief Guest Abdul Wahab (Sadullapur Upazila Youth Development Officer), Muhammad Shahin Mia (Upazila correspondent for My TV and Daily Inqilab), Firoz Kabir (Upazila correspondent for Bijoy TV), and others. Also present were public representatives, teachers, religious representatives, social workers, women representatives, students, local dignitaries, representatives from various social and voluntary organizations, and youth volunteers from the project.
The discussion highlighted various aspects of changing negative gender-based perceptions and discriminatory attitudes in society, preventing child marriage, and establishing equal rights and dignity for men and women. Discussions also focused on the role of youth in addressing these social issues, raising public awareness at the local level, and the necessity of collective action.
Speakers emphasized that families, educational institutions, public representatives, social organizations, and local leaders must work in a coordinated manner to establish gender equality and prevent child marriage. They noted that the active participation of youth is crucial for changing discriminatory attitudes in society and protecting the rights of women and adolescent girls. They further stated that to build an equitable and non-discriminatory society, it is essential to raise awareness among the youth, foster a positive mindset, and create opportunities for their participation in social activities. Additionally, they emphasized the need to raise awareness about the harmful effects of child marriage among families and people from all walks of life.
Participants at the event underscored the importance of playing a role—from their respective positions—in eliminating gender-based discrimination, preventing child marriage, and establishing gender equality.
It is worth noting that the 'Youth for Equality' project aims to raise awareness about gender equality and pave the way for positive societal change through the active engagement of young people.
