Dhaka University Research Society (DURS) is a Research platform for the students of the University of Dhaka. It is the first university-based research platform for the student in Bangladesh. Its journey has started on 6th December 2016 with the motto “Research for a Better World” and has been working to explore the spirit of research to the young generation all over the country. Currently an Execu

tive Wing of 22 members, a Central Research Wing of 26 young researchers, and 11 discipline-oriented research teams:

Many renowned teachers of University of Dhaka are also engaged with this organization as ‘Advisor’ and ‘Research Consultant’. Besides, many professional researchers as 'Student Consultant' & corporate leaders are also engaged with this valuable organization as ‘Corporate Advisor’. Endeavors:

- Organize long and short-term workshop on research and various training Workshop for Skill development & Youth leadership.

-Organize special training for all of the students to make a complete assignment, thesis and monograph.

-Organize national and international seminars, research fairs, research Conferences, idea contests, young researchers' summits, research papers & poster presentation contest,s etc.

-Conduct research in different fields and to create ideas making collaboration with peers, teachers, experts, policy makers and other concerned stakeholders.

1️⃣ All research proposals must maintain academic integrity and ethical research standards.

3️⃣ If Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools are used during proposal preparation, participants must ensure that:

🔸 AI-generated content is properly reviewed and refined by the team members,
🔸 Information generated through AI is verified through authentic academic sources,
🔸 AI tools are used only as supportive tools and not as substitutes for original research and critical thinking.

5️⃣ Any unethical or misleading use of AI may lead to rejection of the proposal.

🔹 After the preliminary selection process, selected teams will be invited to participate in the final round through Poster Presentation and/or Oral Presentation.

💰 Registration Fee: BDT 200 per team (applicable only for selected teams).

🏆 Awards & Opportunities

2️⃣ The best 3–5 proposals overall will receive a small research grant from DURS.

Dhaka University Research Society (DURS) successfully organized an insightful Executive Training Session on “Organizational Structure & Governance: Why Your Role Matters” on 23 May 2026 at 10:00 PM (BDST).

The session was conducted by Nasrin Jabin, PhD Student at Washington State University, USA, and Former President of DURS. She shared valuable insights on organizational governance, leadership responsibilities, teamwork, professional conduct, and personal development.

One of the most engaging parts of the session was the discussion on SWOT Analysis for personal growth and self-improvement, where participants learned how to identify their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to become more effective leaders and researchers. The interactive Question & Answer session allowed executive members to engage directly with the trainer, discuss practical challenges, and gain further guidance on leadership, organizational management, and professional development.

The session inspired executive members to develop professionalism, organizational skills, and a growth-oriented mindset for contributing more effectively to DURS and the research community.
