Grooming is designed to look harmless at first.
That’s why so many warning signs get dismissed as “normal,” “dramatic,” or “just teenage behavior.”

But manipulation often begins long before abuse becomes visible.
It can look like attention. Validation. Protection. Understanding.

And for many young people — especially those feeling lonely, unseen, or emotionally overwhelmed — that connection can feel safe before it becomes dangerous.

These conversations matter because awareness creates intervention.
The more we understand how grooming actually works, the better equipped we are to protect the young people around us with compassion instead of judgment.

Pay attention to changes.
Ask questions gently.
Create spaces where children feel safe telling the truth.

Sometimes protection starts with simply noticing that something feels off.

The more we educate ourselves and our communities, the more lives we can help protect.

Some girls grow up being told they’re “too much.”
Too loud. Too opinionated. Too ambitious. Too emotional.

You were never too much. You were just in spaces that couldn’t hold you.

The right people won’t ask you to shrink. The right spaces won’t require you to be less.

You don’t need to become smaller to be accepted.

You need to be where you’re fully seen.

A message to our young girls from ‘s Billboard Women In Music speech.

A reminder that impact isn’t always loud. It’s in the “small” things. 💜

Black femicide is one of the most underreported public health crises in the U.S.

It’s not just about numbers.
It’s about whose lives are protected and whose are overlooked.

At Girl Vow, we believe awareness is where change begins.

We created the for this exact reason. To save and protect our girls.

Save this. Share this. Start the conversation.

There’s this idea that one day you’ll just “figure it all out” and suddenly become who you’re meant to be.

But actually, you become yourself through the decisions you make every day.
What you choose to accept.
What you choose to walk away from.
What you choose to pursue, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Becoming YOU is a series of choices.

Love should never feel confusing, unsafe, or harmful.

In this week’s Advocacy, Healing, and Empowerment workshop, we’re creating space to talk about relationships. We’ll learn how to recognize red flags, understand boundaries, and define what healthy love looks like. 🌿

Because everyone deserves a love that feels safe, supportive, and rooted in respect. 💜
