While agriculture is vital for food security, traditional practices often fail to leverage Bangladesh's abundant wetland resources. The MIAES project addresses this by transforming these underutilized aquatic landscapes into a structured, high-yield agro-industrial ecosystem. By converting these extensive wetlands into a high-value production system, the project aims to maximize economic output and unlock the unique potential of integrated agrobased production.

Traditional farming systems in the region are often hindered by a high dependency on external feed, limited income diversification, low operational efficiency, and a heightened vulnerability to market fluctuations. To address these challenges, the proposed model utilizes system-based production and resource optimization to enhance overall productivity.

A primary focus of this project is the strategic use of land in Bangladesh that remains waterlogged for several months each year. Because these areas are typically underutilized for standard crop cultivation, this initiative proposes converting such wetlands into productive assets through an integrated waterfowl and aquaculture farming system.
