đ International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2026
âResilience Starts at Homeâ is not just a slogan; it is an important message for all of us. We should follow this idea in our daily lives to protect ourselves, our families, and our communities from disasters.
Climate change may make disasters more frequent, more harmful, and more costly. Therefore, central and local government agencies, social organizations, and communities should work together to raise awareness, especially among people living in disaster-prone areas.
On this important day, we must stand beside those who have lost their lives, homes, and belongings because of disasters. We should work together to build safer and more resilient communities.
Today, Md Shahidullah, Founder Chairman of PRANFOTA Youth Social Organization and a local government researcher, participated in a rally and an awareness-raising programme at Chandipur Union Parishad, Zianagar, Pirojpur.
The programme was organized in collaboration with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and the Disaster & Climate Risk Management (DCRM) Department. It aimed to raise awareness among rural people, students, and others about disaster preparedness and risk reduction.
Md Shahidullah emphasized that building a disaster-resilient community starts with awareness at the local level. Through public awareness, cooperation, and collective action, we can protect lives and build a safer future for everyone.
PRANFOTA Youth Social Organization believes that protecting lives and building resilient communities is a shared responsibility. Let us work together for a safer future. â¤ī¸đą
